Everyone life stories start out different, especially mine. It wasn't related to anyone. I guess I was just that way. Each night I dream, and the next day it becomes true. It was freaky, but interesting I knew what would happen but I was the only one who could stop or change my dreams. I experience day before night or today before tomorrow. My mother says its just a coincidence, but I know it isn't. Someone has to understand me, maybe someone is living to be just like me. But who? I read my real-parents diary that I found in the closet. it said "Jenna, that's what we named her. Now, we must go and find a fake-family for her. Which is heart-breaking. We love her dearly and will recognize her from our, dreams."
"Jenna, breakfast is ready!" Shouted my "fake" parents. I shut my diary and locked it. I remembered in my dream, what happened in the morning. We ate breakfast and somebody tried to steal my mom's jewelery upstairs.
"Mom, dad! Will you come here real quick." I yelled back, impatiently. They sprinted up the stairs and stood confused. "Someones in your room." I whispered. I had a lamp in my hand ready to attack. My dad was an cop, he knew what to do. He set down the lamp and hid to the side of the door and motioned us to move to a corner so we wouldn't get hurt. We watched him slam the door open and right that second a man was trying to climb down the window. My mom held me behind her and tagged along to get a better view.
"Hey!" My dad said and began pulling the curtain the man was going down on. My mom left me behind and went to help him. When, the man got to the top my dad hit him with the butt of his gun and he was soon lying on the floor. I handed him handcuffs from his home-office. "If you didn't spot him honey. We would've had all your mom's jewelry gone." He chuckled but he was just trying to comfort me because he knew it was another dream.
I gave a sideways smile. "Your welcome," I slowly walked away. "Its a daily thing. Dreams, just don't come true like that."
"But-" I knew this was the part were we start arguing and its always me who stops it. I ignored the fact and went downstairs to where there was our steaming breakfast. I slowly began to eat and looked around to assure myself I was safe. My father came downstairs, I heard the sink go off. I knew where my mother was to.
"Jenna, I know this is hard for you but maybe its just the way you are? Its a good thing though right? It'll protect you."
"Who's my real parents?" It was like this every morning but he never gave me a response. I wanted one though. He tried to walk away but I grabbed his hand. "Tell me! Where are they? Who are they?" I didn't expect him to give me an answer but I felt like forcing it out of him. "I-I want to know about my life, and if I don't," I tried to look for a threat. "I- I will run away."I paused that wasn't doing any good. "I will hurt myself." They hated to hear those simple words, so he gave in, slightly.
"Sweetie, we don't know much about your parents. All we know is how they look, and they came put you on our doorstep and they soon vanished. Its not like they told me anything. Well, they did but they only said to take care of you." I knew my dad was hiding more. That was only the beginning of the story. I tried to concentrate on them, since each dream was about what I focused on the most. The rest of the morning was quiet, it was a Saturday. No school. I only had my own time on these days, but tonight we were going out for dinner.
As soon as I finished breakfast I went upstairs and got dressed in better clothes. I wore sweats, and a sweater. I was a simple person, I liked comfortable clothes and something that made me feel, like me! I started to curl my hair and straightened my bangs.
Shortly, I skipped down stairs to were my father was watching a football game. He was cheering on his favorite team. "Dad? Don't you have work?"
He turned around "Yes, I do. Actually I thought I should watch a bit of the game." I went over to him and pulled him off the couch.
"Come on! You'll be late. Plus, I need you to stop me by at Jackie's house!" I begged. He then, made up his mind and stood up.
"Let's go."
* * *
I was at Jackie's house now. We were in her room. Jackie is my best friend, the only one that understood me. She was the only one who tried to understand my dreams and predict whats next. She was the only one who played along and made me feel better. "Hey, Jenna" She smiled her warm smile. "What's up?"
"Hey, nothing. But, today is the day I want to find out about my real parents. I want to figure out why this is happening maybe I'm like superman?" We both laughed.
"I know but, we never to something best-friend like. I mean-"
"Tonight, our family is going out for dinner maybe you can come?" I was starting to think we'll drift apart one day and lose everything we have.
"Okay, but your absolutely crazy! Your parents aren't telling you anything and how do you expect to find anything better?"
"Well, we don't know until we try." I grinned.
"No, you don't know till you try. I actually think you use me? You never treat me like a good friend and all you worry about is your old parents but your living a great life now. Ignore the dreams, change whats bad to good. But, keep everything else, you waste time searching." Wow, she could've said this before. I honestly knew this was going to happen one day where I'm left with no friends.
"You feel I'm wrong to be looking for my true parents because I have awkward dreams and want to figure out why! You don't know what I'm going through because you have your actual parents by your side 24/7 and I'm stuck with half way strangers!" I yelled and I could hear her mother running towards her room.
"What's going on girls?" She asked not having a clue why our faces were red. I grabbed my bag off her bed and grunted. I ran out of her house not taking one stop or one thought.
Now I was friend-less.
