Well... This is my life. I am a military veteran with nothing to look forward to, dead end job and nothing exciting in life.. Until I got that text from Nick. Nick if anyone who is wondering is my 8th grade crushes best friend. The message contained information of a plan to surprise my that 8th grade crush Kacie.
Kacie is a very beautiful and amazing girl that I met at my first track meet in 8th grade. When I saw her my eyes just lits up and I didn't feel so dead inside, its like she sparked something that would change me for the rest of my life. I knew that I had to talk to her, so I did. She was the nicest girl I've met for so long. She was semi tall about 5'7 as far as I could tell. She wore glasses and had deep black hair that shined in the sun light, and a beautiful smile that made my day. I thought everything about her was perfect, and she always had a slight spark in her eyes.
We started talking bit by bit at the high jump pit, Doing our running events just enjoying ourselves. I started flirt and to my surprise she started to flirt back. I was a little shocked at first but I went with it, we started to talk more and more getting to know each other better when She asked for my number. Me being me I gave it to her not paying attention and forgetting a number, we went back to the high jump. I placed first with the guys, and she placed first of the girls, her jumps where flawless, her arch over the bar and her take off just amazing to watch. A little later the meet ended and we didn't talk for quite a while because I forgot a number in my phone number, amazing right. Anyways a few meets later at a home meet we met again. Going through the meet as normal, same events as each other. I met Kacie at the high jump and we started to warm up etc. Then the 100 meter sprint was announced. I told her if she beats her personal best I would give her a hug, guess what... She beat it by a Tenth of a second! I was proud of her and I gave her the hug that was promised. We both failed terribly at high jump and got out, but we still had fun and hung out. I fixed the mistake I made in my number and we have been talking ever since, we had our last meet back in Alexander where we met and haven't seen each other since then... And me moving to South Carolina didn't help things at all.
So here I am now reading this message from Nick, she sent me a plane ticket and paid for a hotel for me to stay in until I found a more permanent home. She invited me to Kacie's first meet of the year, so I accepted her offer and soon after sparks flew.
