Once upon a time, there was a girl. She had long, white hair that was the color of freshly fallen snow. Her eyes were the color of the sky on a spring day. The little girl was beautiful, with big, kind eyes, and a welcoming heart-shaped face. She looked so kind and innocent but she was alone. Her mother died during birth, and her father died a week later due to what the people in the village said was a broken heart. No one in the village had bothered taking the orphaned girl in after her father's death, many assumed she was also dead. It wasn't until five years later, when a young boy had spotted a girl alone in a meadow, did the villagers know she was still alive. How she survived, no one knew how, nor did they care to find out. The girl's long white hair unsettled the people, many claimed she was possessed by something, and that is how she had survived on her own. While others claimed that she was a witch of some sort. Either way, no one wanted anything to do with the her. As time passed, the girl with white hair faded from the villagers minds, although, they always did avoid the meadow, which was where the young girl could usually be found.
About ten years had past since the boy had found the white haired girl in the meadow, and the village of Ferris was preparing for the Prince to arrive. Every time a Prince comes of age, he must find himself a wife and the Prince cannot take over the throne until he marries one of the people of Libel. Prince Eric was an extremely picky Prince, and Ferris was one of the last places the Prince was suppose to visit, therefore, the small village was in complete chaos as they prepared for the Prince to arrive. Although, when the Prince did arrive, he wanted nothing to do with the festivities the people had put hard work into to impress him. Instead, he and his men decided to go hunting in the nearby forest after he had met all the eligible women in Ferris. Or so he thought.
As the men headed towards the wood, they passed through a meadow. In the meadow, they spotted a young women sitting on the grass, leaning against a large willow tree. Her hair was pure white, and was hanging down, slightly covering her face. She was looking down, stringing flowers into a long chain. Prince Eric turned his chestnut mare, and had it gallop over to the women. When he reached her side, flanked by his two guards and his general, he dismounted. The Prince ran his hand through his shaggy brownish blonde hair and eyed her curiously. The girl did not look up, or acknowledge the Prince in anyway, she just tied another flower to her chain and tucked her hair behind her ear.
"Eh hem," the Prince said, trying to get her attention. The young girl still ignored him, not even bothering to look up in his direction. "I didn't see you at the festival," The Prince said, sounding irritated by the lack of attention he was receiving.
The girl continued to ignore him, and her long, thin fingers continued to weave the brightly colored flowers together.
"It is I, Price Eric, future ruler of Libel, and I demand respect from you. Who are you?" The Prince said, his cheeks pink in frustration. After a few moments of silence, the girl coolly responded.
"I am someone who would be like to be left alone," The girl said, and finally turned and looked up at the Prince. Her large, blue eyes were narrowed and she was scowling coldly at the Price.
"That is no way to treat your Prince!" The General said, shocked.
The girl turned her gaze to him. "This fool is no Prince of mine," She said bitterly, standing up angrily. She then picked up the basket that held flowers in it and began to walk off.
"Hold on now," The Prince said, reaching out and grabbing her arm tightly.
"Unhand me," The girl screeched, her eyes darkening menacingly.
"What is your name?" the Prince asked, ignoring her last command.
"My name, is none of your concern, and now I demand that you unhand me!" She cried out. The Prince's eyes darkened angrily.
"General, take her to the Palace, she is to be my wife. Even though she had bad manners, she is beautiful." The Prince shoved her in the General's direction. She then stumbled and dropped her basket to the ground, causing brightly colored flowers to tumble out of the basket. The general caught ahold of her tightly.
"No!" She shouted, pulling away from the general's grasp.
"No?" The Prince asked confused.
"I am not going to marry you," She snarled angrily.
The Prince waved a hand, dismissing her.
"Winter," She suddenly said, as the general pulled her up onto his horse.
"What?" The Prince asked her, confused.
"My name is Winter, and you are going to regret this," She hissed angrily. The prince waved a dismissing hand towards her, ignoring her threat.
"Take her to the Palace, I will be there in a few days time." the Price commanded, the general then rode off with the girl with white hair angrily protesting.
