CHAPTER 33

After apologising to the servant, Nandini returned to her room, with some snacks & drinks for her frndzz. She entered the room with a smile & kept the food between them & said,
Nandini: U all sit, I'll just freshen up & be back.
Nandini moved towards the washroom & returned 5 minutes ltr, she got on the bed next to Manik & picked up the last mug of coffee. All of them were talking about the album which Nandini was simply sitting there thinking to tell them about Harshad or not. 15 minutes latr, Mukti noticed Nandini was on Manik's lap & both were sharing the same coffee while one cup was lying untouched on their side.
Mukti: Manik, u both r so addicted to each other that none of u realise that u both r sharing the same mug of coffee, while the other cup is kept there, still filled.
All of them turned towads Manan & smiled, while Nandini was still in her thoughts & thus she didn't even heard her. Cabir clicked his fingers in front of her eyes & bringing her out of her thoughts & then said,
Cabir: And nandini doesn't even know that she has actually shifted to Manik's lap.
Nandini noticed it & blushed, she was about to get down when Manik held her by her waist & pulled her making her even more confortable on his lap. And then said,
Manik: Why do u guys hv any problem, if my wife is sitting in my lap or if we r sharing the same cup.
Nandini: Manik!!
Manik: What, am i saying anything wrong??
Aliya: No Manik, U r absolutely right... U can do anything with ur wife, anywhere u wish!!
Manik wrapped his arm, more tightly around her waist & said,
Manik: Ohk so lets get back to work... Where were we??
They all continued to work. Manik noticed that Nandini was lost & thus decided to talk to her latr. A few minutes latr cabir said,
Cabir: Shh.... Guys silent!!
They all turned towards Manik & saw Nandini sleeping peacefully in his arms & smiled at her.
Aliya: Manik make her lie down properly, lets move out & work.
Manik nodded & they all moved out of the room & settled in the living area. 10 minutes latr they saw Nandini getting down the stairs.
Mukti: Arey Nandini u woke up so early??
Nandini simply smiled & walked down, Manik went towards her & slowly asked,
Manik: Why did u get up so early??
Nandini: How can I sleep when u aren't around.
Manik smiled & said, "Sorry!!"
Nandini: No need to be sorry, its ohk... And moreover I hv a mood to cook dinner today, so u go n work, i'll prepare dinner 4 all....
Nandini went towards the kitchen & Manik came back & sat,
Mukti: What happened, what did she say??
Manik: Nothing, she just got up bcoz she wished to prepare dinner today...
Cabir: Wow!! That means today we'll again get some delicious food... Its been 2 months yr...
They all worked & then went home after dinner. Manan got to the bed, after their prays. Manik wrapped his arm around Nandini's waist & then he slowly asked after sometime,
Manik: Nandini may i ask something??
Nandini: Hmn!!
Manik: Whats cooking in ur head?? I m noticing u from the evening, u seem lost... What happened tell me??
Nandini bit her lip thinking about it, which didn't go unnoticed by Manik.
Manik: Ohk tell me when u feel right.... I won't force u but make sure u take care of urself....
Nandini smiled at him & kissed his cheek & then said,
Nandini: I don't need to take care of myself bcoz u do that very well!!
Soon both of them slept hugging each other, like daily. The next day, Nandini didn't hv much work at the hospital so she decided to stay back at home. In the evening, Nandini was sitiing in her room, wearing a casual top with normal jean shorts till her mid thighs & was watching TV. Just then Manik returned from work. He went towards her & lied down on the bed resting his head on her lap. Nandini smiled at him & kissed his forehead. Manik closed his eyes as Nandini moved her fingers slowly through his hair. They stayed like that for a few minutes. After which Nandini slowly said,
Nandini: Manik!!
Manik: Hmn...
Nandini: Chalo now get up, freshen up... I'll get something 4 u to eat..
Manik: Hmn...
Nandini: Manik hmn kya hota h... Get up na...
Manik moved a little & grabbed her waist... Nandini slowly picked up a glass of water from the side table & poured a little water over Manik. Manik got up with a jerk & Nandini got up from the bed, laughing loudly.
Nandini: Aww... Manik uth gya!!
Manik looked at her & said,
Manik: Now no one can save u from me.....
On the other hand, Amms, chachi & Rishab reached Mumbai to surprise Nandini. They reached the Malhotra Mansion & entered to ask the servant.
Rishab: Nandini didi & JijU at home??
Servant: Yes they r up in their room... U all sit I'll call sir.
Just then Nandini ran out of her room, Laughing loud & shouting,
Nandini: For doing anything... U first need to catch me!! Catch me if u can...
Manik ran behind her shouting her name. The servants smiled at the couple & Chachi noticed all of them put their heads down & walk inside, not willing to distrub their masters. Nandini ran down the stairs towards the living room. Manik too raan behind her. Nandini was looking towards Manik & thus, by nistake she fell on the couch.
Manik: Nandini... Carefull!!
Manik shouted in fear but then he saw her laughing so he moved towards her. Manik reached the couch & started tickling her.
Nandini: Manik... No!!! Plz Manik....
Nandini laughed louder due to his tickling. She was lying down over the couch & Manik was standing by her side.
Nandini: Stop Manik, plz... Sorry na... No!!
Nandini moved her hands to stop her but Manik sat by her side & almost got over her & continued tickling her.
Manik: No say still feeling naughty or not!!
Nandini: No No sorry.... Plz Manik stop!!
Manik stopped tickling her but immediately picked her up in his arms & twirled her around, when Nandini suddenly noticed her family standing there.
Nandini: Amms!! Manik put me down!!
Manik noticed them & put her down, she ran towards them & hugged Amms...
Nandini: Wow Amms, What a surprise??
She hugged chachi & rishab as well. After that Manik came forward & touched amms's feet, she blessed him happily after which he moved towards Chachi, who smiled broadly & kissed his forehead.
Nandini: Amms how r u??
Amms: Me thik hoon kanna.... how r u??
Nandini: I m very good... Achcha u all sit, I'll just be back.
Nandini turned towards Manik with a smile, Manik nodded a little after which she ran upwards to her room. Manik made them all sit & shouted,
Manik: Kaka..... Water!!
He too sat with them, as the servant came with some water & juice. Manik noticed Amms mood a little off so he asked,
Manik: Amms, any problem??? I noticed u were thinking about something, when Nandini came to u...
He waited for her to reply but when she didn't say anything he said,
Manik: Amms, I m just like your son right... So u can share it wid me...
Amms smiled a little & said,
Amms: Sorry Manik, we all disturbed u two.... I knw we should hv informed before coming, but i just wanted to surprise Nandini. Sorry that we disturbed both of u...
Manik: Amms what r u saying?? Disturbed.... Really!!! Did u see the happiness on Nandini's face, seeing u all here.... If u would hv informed, then i m sure this happiness would not hv been so much..
Amms: But still-
Manik: Amms, don't think that u disturbed us.... And even if u would hv informed us, then also u would hv found us in the same way, as u did today... Did u notice the servants, even they know that its all normal & thus, I hv given them instructions accordingly.... Your presence can only give us happiness & not distrubance.
Amms smiled at his words with tears in her eyes & kept her hand on his head.
Amms: Thank u Manik... Thank u 4 keeping my daughter so happy always..
Manik was about to say something when he heard Nandini's steps from the stairs. He didn't even turn to look at her & said sternly,
Manik: NANDINI!!
Nandini understood his words & slowed down her steps. She came down & Manik saw her wearing a nice green-black chuddidar suit. She went closer to Amms & sat,
Nandini: Amms I can't tell u how much happy I m to see u here... I was missing u all a lot..
Amms: We too were missing u very much. And then, when Rishab showed me the video of ur performance in Paris, I couldn't stop myself from coming here...
Nandini hugged her sideways & Amms said,
Amms: You both sang beautifully.....
Nandini: Thank u Amms!!
They all sat together & talked for sometime after which Nandini said,
Nandini: Ohk So now u all would hv got tired in the journey.... So u got & rest 4 sometime, till then I'll prepare dinner 4 u all myself.
Nandini showed them their rooms & then moved towards the kitchen, when Manik stopped her.
Manik: Nandini, yesterday also u made the dinner now again... The servants can do it na!!
Nandini: Manik, Rishab really likes to eat my food, plz let me make it today, & moreover I hv rested the entire day today, it wont make any difference if I work a little.
Manik: But-
Nandini held his hand & sweetly said, "PLZZ"
Manik: Ohk go!!
Nandini immediately kissed his cheek & said,
Nandini: Thank u very much.... And yes call the others as well, Amms will fell good!!
Manik: Sure!!
Manik called everyone as Nandini prepared the dinner. At around 9 pm all of them came & greeted Nandini's family. They all sat together & talked after which Nandini called them for Dinner. Nandini served them & then she too joined to eat. She had just started eating, at around 9:30, when her phone rang,
Nandini: Sorry guys its from the hospital I hv to take it!!
Mukti: Go on Nandini... Don't say sorry...
Nandini picked up the call & said,
Nandini: Hello!!
Girl: Dr. Nandini, ur pateint Mr. Saxena has been brought here, he has puked out a lot of blood & is unconcious..
Nandini: WHAT?? When??
Girl: He has been brought just now...
Nandini: Ohk, get him to the ICU, i'll be there in 10.
Nandini got up from the table & said,
Nandini: Guys, Emergency, I gotta go...
Nandini ran up towards her room & the next min she returned with her bag.
Nandini: Navya, plz make sure all hv dinner properly... Sorry Amms, Chachi... U all don't wait for me, I may get late...
Manik: I'll drop u...
Nandini: No Manik, U hv ur dinner, I'll go with the driver...
Manik: Nandini... I m coming, now lets go!!
Saying this manik got out & Nandini too left. He dropped her to the hospital & nandini said,
Nandini: Manik, u go home... Don't wait for me & do hv ur dinner plz.... I'll return back with the driver.. Ohk!!
Manik: Ohk sure!!
Nandini: Bye.. Love u!! Thanks...
Nandini rushed inside & straight went to the ICU. Harshad's condition was serious, he needed the operation but Nandini couldn't operate him without his or his family's permission.
Manik reached home & saw that all had finished dinner & wer sitting & talking. Manik joined them & Navya said,
Navya: Manik, u hvn't had ur dinner... Should I get it for u?
Manik: Thanks Navya... BUt I don't need it now, I'll eat after sometime.
His friends clearly knew the reason, so they stayed quite but Amms said,
Amms: Manik beta, its not good tohv dinner late, u should eat it on tym..
Manik: Yes Amms but at present I m really in no mood
Soon everybody left & Nandini's family also moved to their rooms. Manik sat in the living room, waiting for Nandini & completing his work. It was around 2 am when Amms came out of her room to hv some water & saw Manik working. She moved towards him & said,
Amms: Manik!!
Manik: Arey Amms, U r awake??
Amms: I just came to get water, but Manik why r u working till so late... Has nandu returned or not..
Manik: No amms, Nandini hasn't come yet... I was waiting for her only, so i thought to complete my work till then.
Amms: Nandu has still not come... How can she be so late??
Manik: Amms, relax... Its her work & I knw she'll try to come ASAP!! U go & sleep, don't worry...
Amms: Manik u too go sleep... God know when will she return..
Manik: Its ohk Amms, I'll wait..
Amms smiled at him & went back to her room after drinking water.
In the hospital, after continuously working for 4 hours, Nandini successfully got Harshad in a stable condition. She asked the staff to keep him under observation & left for home. She reached at 2:30 to see Manik waiting for her. As manik saw her he got up, moved towards her & hugged her. Nandini hugged him back & slowly said,
Nandini: Soooooorrry!!
In a reply Manik simply tightened his grip around her.
Nandini: Manik, did u hv ur dinner??
Nandini asked this & broke the hug, Manik smiled at her & nodded in a yes.
Nandini: Manik, how many times hv I told u, not to wait for me, but u never listen to me.... Y didn't u hv ur dinner when i asked u to!!
With this both of them had their dinner together & then moved towards their room & slept hugging each other.
