"You will always fall in love, and it will always be like having your throat cut, just that fast."

― Catherynne M. Valente,

The first time I met her was back in 2000. My love for Amore Garcia was no secret. She was the queen of my heart. The pace of my heart grew twice at the thought of her. Oh she was lovely, like a little kitty.

Her laughter was like raining jewels in a hot dessert. So contagious and sweet almost like a melody. It was soothing and haunting at the same time.

Boys surrounded her and so did some male teachers. All wanting to know the shy beauty that seemed to grab their attention. She was a beauty, an angle in disguise. Her face was a map of perfection. She always held herself with grace and delight.

I was a stuttering mess, a lanky boy who truly believed that it was love at first sight.

It was on the summer of 2001 when I had finally spoke to her. A year had passed by but my love for Amor only grew more. Her eyes were on her book as she sat alone on the bleachers with no one around her. Although she was the most prettiest girl I've ever known she still managed to be lonely with not a single friend on her side.

Her eyes were a bit glassier and her hands were tightly affirmed in a fist.I could tell that she had been crying. My heart was already broken at the site before me.

"Excuse me-e you seem lonely can I sit besides you?" My cheeks was burning a bright shade of red by the time I managed to stutter those heaps of words without stopping. Any fool could see that I was nervous.

She gasped aware that someone had seen her in tears. Her blonde locks were grazing her soft skin which made her features look so pure.

"Sure." And that simple word managed to ignite this tiny spark of hope on my heart.
