Hey, my name's Graff. I've been around the world on many adventures with my brother Hiro. But now, Hiro is traveling amongst the stars attending to his destiny and I'm here on Void. This new age doesn't need me much, so I don't have much to do, but I do have many stories I can tell. Sitting here reminds me of another time I felt alone and bored.
I was in my laboratory in Palpovich working on some trivial theory I had somehow convinced myself was important. I don't know how long I was working there, and I'm sure I missed many a night's rest, but it all seemed so unimportant to me at the time.
Just as I was working through a rune conversion, I felt a warm sensation by my side. It felt so foreign, and it must have taken me a few minutes to realize that it felt like my message card. Although, I thought I had taken it out of my pocket as I didn't want to be disturbed.
Well, it turned out that I had taken it out of my pocket. I hadn't realized it until I got to my feet, but the candles by which I lit the room had long since gone out. The only source of light was my message card sitting on a table across the room. It was bright white, almost blinding; I had a lot of messages. I figured that I might as well deal with them while I was up.
Many were messages that were either past a point of a reasonably timed response or ones I simply didn't care about at the time, like requests for me to give intellectual speeches or questions on base theories, but one in particular caught my attention. A message from Hiro had just arrived. "Urgent business," it read, "How quickly can you get here?"
