"Alright kiddos. Lock the door's and windows, don't go outside and no parties." I looked at Ray, my only son, and my oldest, who was 16 years old. "And NO girls over. Except Lizzie. Your father's upstairs, but he's busy, so don't bother him unless you have the 3 B's. Do you remember the 3 B's?"
Gray, my 4 year old daughter, who was nearing her 5th birthday, was the only one to reply. "Barf, Blood, or Bad guys." She looked up to Jay, my oldest daughter, and the twin of Ray. "Did I get them right?" Jay nodded.
"Alrighty then. I love you three," I kissed my three children and began to close the door. "I'll be back in time to make dinner."
"Thank goodness!" yelled Gray with a smile, "Dad's cooking sucks!" I chuckled, and closed the door slowly. "Bye sweeties!" I smiled. "Byee..." The three said in unison, waving, slowly walking away from the door.
I closed the door fully, and walked to my car. I looked to my right to see my buddy cop, Kuro, in the car already. "How did you even get in here?" I croaked. Kuro looked to me, speaking with no emotion; "I forgot to get out last night."
"But I dropped you off at your house last night. You weren't even in the car when I got home."
"No more questions!" screamed Kuro, still with no emotion. I should mention, she never has any emotion. I opened my mouth to say something, but decided not to. I unlocked my side door and threw Kuro to the backseat.
I should also mention, Kuro doesn't have a drivers license. She did for about a week, then she ran into an old lady and gave up on trying to do her driver's test again.
I started up the car, backing out of my driveway. Kuro pulled a mirror our of her pocket and held it up so we could see each other. I looked at my blonde hair, draped over my shoulders. My light blue eyes contrasted with the shade of blue from my police uniform. My younger appearance surprised me. Despite the small streaks of gray along my hair, and the small wrinkles around my mouth, I looked about in my early 30's, when in reality I was in my early 40's. Kuro on the other hand, looks very different.
Kuro's crow colored black hair reached to her butt when it wasn't in a bun. She has bright green eyes and a 18 year old's appearance, maybe because she's 20 years younger than me. Her obsession with the color black had reflected onto her choice of color for her uniform. Instead of receiving her normal blue colored police uniform, after several hours of begging, the chief got her an extremely dark blue pair of clothes. Even though we're extremely different, opposites attract. Platonically, of course, i'm married.
After what seemed like ages with Kuro in the car, we finally arrived at the police station. Once we pulled up to the parking lot, my expression changed. The place looked almost run down, and a large hoard of people were outside. Alongside that, Brutus, our boss, 's car was nowhere to be found. Brutus usually parked in the parking lot ages before work, and stayed ages after. He would sit in the car eating whatever fast food he got, alongside his usual 2 Dunkin Donuts 12 packs. I got out of my car, the 'ding, ding, ding," of a door being opened sounding. I quickly turned off the car and dragged Kuro out. I began to walk over to see what the commotion was. Little did I know, that would be the most life changing mistake I've ever made besides having kids.
