In a Second

My officemates and I were walking home besides GMA building. I was in front of them while the others were discussing about one of our officemates since the boss was planning to terminate him. As we reached the narrow path besides the building, I noticed these three people; one guy (I think he's gay) and two girls. The guy was behind the two girls, they were busy chatting before they noticed us. One of the girls suddenly whispered and giggled as she stared at me, and let the other walk alone ahead. I noticed the girl staring at me like she was telling me that the angels made this opportunity. In no time, my soul went out just to guise how I look. It's like I was preparing to meet this girl. Suddenly, I let my officemate to go first, like I was waiting for her to pass by.

There she went walking like a princess with her pink jacket on, she stood at least five feet tall, her shining silky black hair smelled like strawberry and she has cute rosy cheeks. She’s so cute. I almost forgot that I had company.

And in a few seconds our eyes met, she smiled (her smile was so cute with her dimples), I half smiled back and looked at her too, like I was saying ‘I like you too’ and it was a mini heart attack scenario. I felt in love even if it was in just one second.  Funny isn’t it? But I did feel it. Yeah, it was the longest one second of my life.

Then we passed by, I did not ask for her phone number, and I regret that I did not turn back to see another glimpse of her. As we rode the escalator in the MRT Kamuning Station, a song of John Mayer abruptly resounded to my ears, “Could I have missed my chance and watched you walk away.”   In time, I think and I hope we’d meet again in the same place at the same hour. I may not know all about her yet, but with the feeling that that one second gave me, I find it more than enough to know that her name is “CAMILLE.”
