The Adventure

The Adventure Begins

   Natasha loved listening to music. Her all time favorite band was Family Force 5. She was so excited when she found out they lived in Atlanta as well. Meeting them would make her life, and she could not wait until the day came when she would finally introduce herself as their biggest fan. But until that day came, she would have to settle with listening to their music and watching their Really Real Shows. One day, Natasha was walking home from school when suddenly, she heard rustling in the bushes that ran alongside the sidewalk. She began to walk slower as the rustling continued. She proceeded to walk over to the bushes and when she reached them her best friend, and next door neighbor, Blake jumped out and scared her. 

         “Blake! You almost gave me a heart attack!” She yelled at him.

“Just preparing you in case you are ever kidnapped, you failed by the way.”

“Thank you so very much for testing me.” She said bitterly.

They continued walking towards their houses. When again Natasha heard rustling in the bushes. She knew it wasn’t Blake this time since he was right beside her, but who could it of been? Just as Blake and Natasha were turning to face the bushes, Billy, the neighborhood bully, jumped out and sprayed them with water guns. 

         “Real mature Billy.” Blake said in his serious voice.

“You losers are just too easy!” He yelled back at them and continued on his way. 

     After exchanging irritated looks, Blake and Natasha continued walking. Blake was telling Natasha every detail about his day and when he was done, it was Natasha's turn to share. When she was done detailing her day, she decided to tell Blake about her dream of being a hero. Blake had the same exact dream. They were excited to find out they shared the same dream. Arriving at their houses, they promised to meet up in Natasha's backyard after dinner and continue talking about their wish of becoming a hero. 

    After dinner, Natasha wondered out to her backyard where her dog was. Parker was a boarder collie and her best friend, besides Blake. Blake arrived a few minutes later and they talked about what it would be like to be a hero. They talked about the cliché heroes and how they possessed super powers and discussed what type of powers they would want. Natasha decided on the ability to manipulate time and to read peoples minds. Blake chose super speed and the power to become invisible. When they were done discussing what powers they would want, they decided to call it a night. They agreed to meet up in the morning so they could walk to school together. 

     To get herself to fall asleep, Natasha dreamed of meeting Family Force 5. Her dreams continued through the night and when she woke, she felt so refreshed. For once she couldn’t wait to go to school. She would listen to Family Force 5 on her Ipod and she would talk to Blake as she always did. Billy was waiting for them at the front gate of the school.He was usually there to torment them before school so their whole day was ruined. But today, Natasha actually had the strength to stand up to him. She was tired of his rude words and childish antics, so she stood up to him. The words she said to him were rather unpleasant, so will just leave them out. Lets just say, that when she was done both Billy and Blake’s jaws dropped. When Blake finally caught up to her, he was still in shock.

         “I can’t believe you actually stood up to Billy! He’s like the main bully here!”

“Well that’s not saying much, considering he sucked at being a bully. I was just tired of being the topic of all his lousy jokes. Now he will have to find someone else to pick on.” She replied unfazed. 

        “Still, I’m proud of you.” Blake told her in a sincere voice.

       Natasha looked up at him with thankful eyes and they headed to first hour, English. The teacher explained what the assignment would be for the next few weeks. The assignment was to write a story about an adventure they have had in their lives. 

“Great” She thought, “I haven’t been on an adventure. This should be fun, I’ll just make up one.” 

    When the school day was over, Natasha walked home alone since Blake had football practice. On her way home, she saw something rather unusual. Five men were being shoved into a black van. As she ran towards the van to get a closer look, she noticed the men being shoved into the van looked very familiar. IT WAS FAMILY FORCE 5! She panicked. By the time she got her phone out to call the police, the van was driving away. She didn’t know what to do. She couldn’t just let her favorite band get kidnapped! So she decided to follow the van. She realized it was probably a stupid decision, but she didn’t care. She had to save them. Following the band, a thought came to her mind. 

      “I should probably tell someone what I’m up to. My parents are at work so, I’ll just text Blake so he can get it after football practice.” 

    With that, she continued to follow the mysterious van as quickly and secretly as possible. She was surprised as to where the van finally parked itself. It was in front of her neighbors house. She saw Billy and his father, Mr. Werther, walk out the front door. She was surprised to see this because she didn’t know Billy lived right next door to her and Blake. How could she not of known? The van pulled around to the Werther’s backyard. Natasha quickly ran inside her house and went to her backyard where she was greeted by Parker. Parker and Natasha ran over to their backyard fence and peered into the Werther’s backyard. What she saw, was her favorite band being carried out of the van and over to the giant rock that was in the Werther’s backyard. This was weird to Natasha since it was just a rock. Parker barked at something which made Natasha look away from the criminal activity that was happening just next door. It was the mailman that Parker was barking at and it took Natasha a few minutes to calm him down. She didn’t want to draw attention to their house since she was spying on her neighbors. When she finally calmed Parker down and they resumed their spying position, everyone was gone. Even the van.
