Chapter 1
LIAM POV:
I awoke to the sound of my alarm clock going off. I groaned and slammed my fist on the clock causing it to turn off. I was starting to fall back asleep when my head shot up and I realized that today was the first day of school. I sighed and pushed my self off the bed. I stretched briefly then made my way out the door, walking down the hall and into the bathroom. I washed my face, brushed my teeth and fixed my messy hair, which just stayed the same honestly (I don't even know why I try to fix it.) After that I made my way back into my room and started to fish around for my clothes. After finding them, I pulled on the oversized black hoodie and my dark red skinny jeans. I left my room and started heading down the stairs. Now most kids expect to see their parents downstairs drinking coffee, making breakfast, or watching tv but my parents aren't around for the most part, and honestly, I'm glad about that. Things are a lot worse when one of them are here, let alone both of them. I walked over to the fridge to find any food to eat, but when I opened it there was nothing there. "Of course there isn't anything here. Why would I think there would be?" I muttered to myself. If my sister was here she would have restocked the fridge but she wasn't here anymore to do that. Ever since she died, mom and dad spiraled out of control and just lost themselves. Now I have to face their wrath because of it. I almost am angry that she left me behind, but I know that she couldn't really help it. I mean, she couldn't have decided to die the way she did.
I checked out the time on the stove and realized it was still pretty early, but this was around the time my parents or at least one of them, came back home from "working" as they put it even though it was them going out at night drinking and gambling. I decided to just leave early and just take my time walking to school instead of staying here and having to deal with them. I put on my black converse high tops and opened the door. I just left the door unlocked knowing that my parents were probably too wasted to even remember how to unlock the door. Walking outside hit me harder than I expected. The coldness sent a bone chilling shiver through me and I tried to bury myself further into my hoodie.  As I walked down the street I put my headphones in my ears and watched the puff of steam appear every time exhaled my breath. I was so wrapped in the world my music created that I didn't even realize how fast I was walking until it was too late and I was already at school. As I walked up to the outside courtyard, I saw the group of people I hated as much as my parents, the gang of bullies who were led by Jack Rialis. Jack was attractive, but he was one of the evilest people could could even meet. He was almost as bad as my parents even. I tried to just blend in with the rest of the people entering with me, but my attempt was futile. For some reason he always seems to spot me the most out of everyone. He turned away from chatting with his friends and spotted me "Hey Liam! Get over here!" I cursed under my breath and then responded "no thanks Jack, I'm fine." He then grinned at me in an evil way and walked over to me "I think you should rethink your answer" I looked at him and sighed. I guess I will just have to see whatever he wants so I don't get beaten on the first day of school. "Uh sure" I said. "Good, now come over and meet my friends" I didn't want to talk to his "friends" but I didn't really see any other options, so I just shrugged and followed him. I could already tell this school year is going to be horrible, and today is only just the beginning.
