••••••••••

You tried your best to stay still as [B/F/N] was putting makeup on your face, complaining at several occasions when you tilted your head to try to take a peek at your reflection.

"Stay, still, [Y/N]!" she instructed you for the sixth time, groaning when your movements had caused the eyeliner to smudge once more. "Makeup isn't that cheap, you know!"

You rolled your eyes, crossing your arms. "And the time it takes you to put it on isn't cheap either," you shot back playfully, wiggling your eyebrows to add to the effect. She just shook her head.

"Well, it's not my fault that you're constantly moving your head like a squirrel wanting to go and take a piss," she flicked your forehead, making you wince. "Hey!" you exclaim, rubbing the area where she had hit you. "You'll be getting more of that if you won't stay still," she warned as she began to wipe the smudge from your eyelids, making sure that it was completely gone before reapplying.

Upon hearing those words, your eyes widened and your posture immediately straightened, making sure not to make any extra movements as soon as you did so. Although you loved your best friend to bits, her punches, slaps, and anything remotely related to injuring a person were the absolute the worst, seeing that she takes boxing and self-defense classes every week. Oh, and did you forget to mention that she worked out, too?

[A/N: Yes, your best friend takes boxing and self defense classes and works out. Oh, and knows how to put on makeup like a pro, too. She's the ultimate best friend package (^o^)]

After what seemed like hours to you and minutes to [B/F/N], she had finally finished applying makeup on you, turning your chair so you could take a better view of your reflection. As soon as you had caught a good look at your face, you gasped, running your fingers through your smooth skin to make sure that the reflection you saw on the mirror was really you.

Although you had been seeing the exact same reflection of yourself everyday, you had never really noticed how beautiful your features were before. The way your long eyelashes curved up naturally, not needing any curler to make it look presentable; how pronounced your cheek bones were, fitting into your features perfectly; how soft and delicate your lips seemed to be, a feature surely inherited from your mother; and finally, how your eyes seemed to sparkle when your lips stretched into an unknowing smile, making [B/F/N] grin proudly at you through the mirror.

"I did a great job, didn't I?" she asked, making it her turn to wiggle her eyebrows playfully at you. You laughed and gave her soft push.

"Yes, you did."

And it was true. Instead of using the make-up to change your face, she didn't really change your appearance at all— all she did was make use of what unique features you had and turned it into something that would stand out among others. She had seen the true beauty you had within you that nobody had really noticed before and had molded it into something people would see and appreciate.

She knew more about yourself than you ever did.

Without realizing it, a thankful smile had spread across your features and you felt yourself tearing up at the thought.
