Like A Ladybug In The Fall

Chapter 1

It was the beginning of fall here at beacon. The trees were charging color, summer vacation was over, and the birds had slowly started to grow quiet.

But something was different this fall, something i just couldn't put my finger on. I wasn't quite sure what it was, only that it was a feeling that I couldn't describe. It wasn't a bad feeling though, it was good, and made me get very giddy, and feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

I only ever felt like this if I was around my teammate, Ruby. She was a nice, sweet, energetic girl who always put a smile on everybodys face, even Weiss's. It was whenever we talked, or played that wierd board game, which I still to this very day don't understand, or even just at lunch, that feeling was there. That indescribably happy feeling.

It all started just one random day that fall. We were on our way to lunch, and as always, Ruby was the one to start the conversation.

"Hey guys," she spoke, "what are we gonna do this semester? We're normally occupied with fighting Grimm or the White Fang, but I guess neither of them wanna start trouble this semester."

"Well," yang chimed,"We could try something else equally as cool"

"Like join a circus!" Ruby exclaimed, her eyes filled with excitement.

"Or start our own band!" Yang said in response.

"Oooooor," Weiss interjected, flailing her arms up and down "We could just try to make it through the semester with passing grades this semester! Fighting monsters and terrorists takes up time we could have been using to study."

Ruby and yang both frowned at Weiss, disappointed in her lack of cheerfulness.

"C'mon Weiss!" Ruby shouted, "Why do have to be such a party pooper?"

Ruby looked over at me "Hey Blake, what do you think we should do to keep ourselves occupied this semester? I think a band sounds pretty cool!"

"Uhh, no Ruby, I don't think that would be a good idea" that's what I wanted to say, but I felt that feeling, that one I just couldn't explain, and it impulsed me to agree with her.

"Umm, yeah Ruby" I responded, "That does sound pretty neat."

Ruby looked back over at Weiss, "See Weiss, even Blake agrees with me, and she's Blake! She doesn't ever do things like that"
