Chapter 1: Story of Legends

"And Fiona, along with Prince Allerey lived happily ever after. The End." Gretchen said. "Cool" said Cynthia Repollis, dazzled by her grandmother's great storytelling. "Another story, grandmother, but this time, a legend..." "Well, Cynthia, it's your bedtime now, so go to sleep, we'll continue in the morning, with your cousin, Ashley." Gretchen replied. "Alright, grandmother," Cynthia said closing her eyes. That night, Cynthia dreamt about herself fighting a giant goblin in the pirate ship underwater, feeling fearless. When she suddenly heard a crash, and quickly woke up. Her lamp was on the floor, smashed. And across her room, Cynthia watched a cat-and-dog chase take place on her blue carpet, by her beagle Oliver, and Peony, her cat racing to the window, and out of fright jumped out into the cold and very windy night. Cynthia immediately ran to her window and tried to spot her poor Peony, but unfortunately, was nowhere to be found. She left her window open in case Peony tried to get back in. As she was tucking herself into bed, she could just about see candlelight near her bedroom door and saw her grandmother Gretchen peek in. "Are you alright dear?" said Gretchen, "I heard a crash come from your room." "It's just Oliver chasing Peony again, grandmother." Cynthia answered with a sigh. "And now poor Peony's outside in the cold." "Well, we both can't sleep so let's hear my story shall we?" Cynthia got comfy on the carpet while her grandmother took a seat on the rocking chair. "The legend is called 'In the myst of a forgotten mystery' wait, I think I told you that one last night." Gretchen said to herself. Then she grabbed a book from Cynthia's mini bookcase and read out a couple of legend titles. "Hmm, 'Legends of the Legendary Sphinx,' 'Heart of the forest nymphs' 'The secret of the moonlight tide,' Aha! Here we go. 'The tale of forbidden royalty" "That actually sounds scary, grandmother," said Cynthia "But, at the same time, interesting." "Alright, dear." said Gretchen.
