Luna took his hand and stood up, "Sure?"
Ike looked at her with his yellow eyes, "Don't worry, we will be back soon. I'll stay near camp so Kyro doesn't chew you out."
She trailed after him towards the forest. The princess could feel Kyro's green glare on the back of her neck. Luna quickened her pace, "Do you need something?"
They were a good 20 yards from camp. Ike's eyes turned, they were more distressed then warm. Luna looked at him concerned, "Are you alright?"
"Yes I'm fine, I know I shouldn't be telling you this but... It was no accident you ended up here." Ike whispered constantly checking behind him.
Her head tilted slightly, "What do you mean?"
"Those bandits, they were paid. They knew what the castle looked like because they were given instructions. You being rescued by Gin's patrol, all staged." Ike murmured.
Luna's eyes widened, "You have to be mistaken, Gin didn't even know me until I came here."
"But you know who did."
Luna backed away, Are you suggesting it was Kyro? He wouldn't have done that."
"He treats you like an object, put the pieces together." Ike hissed nervously looking around. "We were all in on it."
Her head began to spin, "I won't believe it."
"You really want to know why Kyro ran away all those years ago?" Ike asked darkly.
The princess began to shiver, "It was because he wanted to get stronger, he said it was family business."
"Getting warmer, it has to do with you as well." The brown male mumbled, "Give up yet?"
"Kyro is my childhood friend, you're making it seem like he is going to kill me." Luna growled.
"No my dear, not you, he needs you alive to marry his brother. He is going to assassinate Prince Grant, thats the real reason he's training."
She bared her fangs and snarled, "You're wrong! Those three are like brothers! Kyro would never do anything to harm him!"
"Think about it, if he's dead then that leaves you as the heir. And you will already be married to Lynx, making Lynx the next to be king. It will redeem his Clan, that's all he ever wanted. That's all those selfish nobles want, a better title!"
Luna remained silent for a while. "He says he wants to make his Clan great again." She began to shake.
Ike walked closer to her, "After he marries you and Grant is dead, they will go for your parents. Then when they are dead, he will kill you. He's been safe guarding you from the other males, he doesn't want you to get feelings for another man. Why? Because if you don't marry Lynx his plan will fall apart."
Luna fell to her knees and shook her head, "I-I can't believe it, no. No. I won't believe it."
"Please Luna! I won't let him harm a strand of fur. Become my mate, we can run off together. That way he won't succeed." Ike crouched down and hugged her. "You're different from the rest of the nobles, I can tell it. Don't you see how Kyro looks at you? Like a cougar stalking a doe."
Luna said nothing for two minutes, "I want to think about this, how do I know you're telling me the truth?"
"I would never lie to you, I love you Luna, please. You have to believe me. I will keep you safe." Ike whispered nuzzling my shoulder.
Ike picked her up and set her on her feet, "We better get back before anyone gets suspicious, be careful and call if someone hurts you. I need to run back to the pond, I forgot something."
