Pein

I was surprised when Pein woke me up early in the morning to go on a mission with him. It was my first mission as an Akatsuki, and I wanted to impress my leader.

"Do exactly as I tell you." Pein commanded.

I nodded, "Yes leader." I obediently followed every single order, doing my best to perform perfectly during the mission. We progressed quickly and efficiently, the mission was executed smoothly. Ya know... Until my face was nearly sliced off. Kunai came from every direction, forcing us to back away. Pein looked irritated as we jumped out of the way of the attacks.

"(Y/n), pay attention!" Pein scolded as he pushed me forward. I would've been split in half by a giant shuriken if Pein hadn't moved me. Throwing a kunai behind Pein, I managed to take out one of the attackers. Pein turned and dealt with the other, but a third managed to sneak up behind us, digging a blade into my back. I pushed the attacker against a tree, allowing Pein to make the final blow.

He remained silent while he addressed my wound, bandaging it before standing up.

"I'm sorry, Leader." I quietly apologized. Pein glanced at me before turning around and walking away. I sulked after him all the way back to the base.

Konan

Konan and I walked peacefully through a forest as she explained our mission. We fell into a comfortable silence when she finished talking. I walked absentmindedly, focusing on the sound of birds singing around us. I was suddenly stopped by Konan's arm in front of my chest.

"There's a trap ahead." She whispered, pointing towards the trap. I followed the direction of her finger and saw a trip wire glinting in the sunlight. Konan searched for any nearby enemies while I was tasked with disarming the trap. She didn't have to search for long. A huge cloud of needles sped towards us, looking like a cloud of pelting rain. We dodged the needles, preparing for a counterattack.

"Konan!" I yelled to my partner, panicking as I noticed how close the needles were to striking her. Just as it seemed she was going to be hit, she practically vanished.

"K-konan?" I was extremely confused. Where did she go!? Suddenly, a whirlwind of papers started swirling around me, blocking my view of our surroundings. When the papers fell away, I found the attackers laying on the ground, dead, with Konan hovering slightly above them.

"Let's keep moving." Konan said, pushing me forward. The rest of mission continued successfully without any problems.

Itachi

Itachi was probably the quietest person I had ever met. He remained silent, even as we walked through a beautiful little town that was bustling with energy. I wanted to start a conversation, but I wasn't sure what to talk about. Honestly, my mute partner could be quite intimidating, especially when it came to conversation. I was about to say something about a cute little shop when I was cut off by my partner.

"(Y/n), you should pay more attention." Itachi stated, peering at me over the collar of his cloak.

"Huh? What do you mean?" I asked. I've been paying attention this whole time!

"A small group of shinobi have been following us for at least twenty minutes." He calmly replied.

"Well, why didn't you say something!?"

"I assumed you were capable of such a basic skill."

That pissed me off, but I didn't have time to get on the Uchiha's bad side. I kept my snarky, "Well, you're a basic bitch." comment to myself and prepared to deal with our stalkers. As soon as the enemy started running towards us, I whirled around and threw several kunai. Unfortunately, that was a pointless act. Mr. Perfect had already caught the attackers in his sharingan. After making quick work of them, I noticed the slight smirk on Itachi's face.
