The New Hire: A Mordecai Fanfiction

Chapter 1: Show Her the Ropes

Mordecai's perspective. All of the characters are human.
"Uggh, man this sucks," I said as Rigby and I  raked leaves.
"Yeah man, we need someone to help," Rigby said.
"The park is swamped. Can you believe all the crap Benson has been making us do?," I said frustrated but continuing to rake. We saw Benson walking over to us talking with a stranger.
"Mordecai, Rigby, this is (y/n) our new employee. The park has been up to its eyes with things to be done so we've taken on a new employee. Show her around, and then she's scheduled to work the snack bar. Oh, and don't screw this up," Benson said. (Y/n) walked forward and held out her hand for Rigby and I to shake it. Damn was she cute. Her brunette hair was pixie cut short and wavy, and her curves were perfectly accentuated by her mom jeans that reached just to her exposed belly button.
"God damn," Mordecai whispered with wide eyes.                                      
"Dude,"Rigby whispered back.
"Excuuuse me?" She said waving her hand in front of mine and Rigby's face.
"Sorry uhh here hips in the cart- uh," Rigby punched me, "Gah I mean: Hop in the cart, and we'll show you around."
*cue tour Montage of the park*
Afterward
"Hey, uh thanks for the tour by the way,"She said rubbing the back of her neck as we dropped her off at the snack bar.
"It was really no problem," she smiled up at me.
"Hey are you staying at the house?" I asked hopefully.
"Actually yes. Benson offered to let me stay in a spare room. My things should be here by now," She replied.
"I can help you unpack later if you want," I offered.
"Oh. You really don't have to do that,"She replied.
"Rigby and I can both help. Right Rigby?" I say elbowing him.
"Gah owww- yeah whatever," Rigby said rubbing the spot where I elbowed him.
"Well if you insist then that would be super dope. Well I gotta go work the snack bar. I can't mis my first shift, Later guys!" She said as she jogged towards the bar.
I started to drive away back toward the yard where Rigby and I were raking.
Rigby punched me in the arm, "Dude you totally have a thing for her," he chuckled. "Dude I do not." I retorted.
"Whatever man you're not fooling anyone."
*after a boring day of "working"*
I walked up the stairs and down the hall (y/n)'s room was right across from mine and Rigby's. When I walked in she was already sitting on a bare matress folding clothes out of a box.
"Hey," I said walking into her room. There were boxes everywhere.
"Hey. Where's Rigby?" She asked.
"He's busy playing video games or something. Where do you want me to start?" I asked.
"Um, those boxes over there by the wall need to be unpacked. You can just put them on that shelf over there," She said.
I walked over to one of the boxes she was talking about and opened it up. Inside was a new game console and a bunch of games.
"Woah. Are these your boyfriend's?" I asked shocked.
"No, those are mine. I have another classic console in one of these boxes," She laughed.
"This is a lot of games, holy crap," I said admiring her hoard of video games.
I sat next to her and started to place them on the shelf. She had a couple of plastic tub dressers in her closet, and I continued to help her unpack. We talked and laughed until Rigby bolted into the door.
"What's going on in here? You guys are taking foreveeeeer," he said.
"I'm helping (y/n) unpack dude. You were there when we offered to help, but you didn't want to," I said a little agitated.
"Yeah, yeah, I know," he smirked.
'Oh no,' I thought. 'This means trouble.'
"Mordecai why don't you stop being such a pussy and ask her out already," he said with a fiendish smile. "I mean it's obvious you have the hots for her," he said before roaring with laughter.
My face was bright red, I looked over at (Y/n) who put her had over her cheeks to try to hide the blush that was beginning to blossom on her Round cheeks. I looked at Rigby and stood up.
"Get out," I said. "Hey man I'm just sayi-" Rigby was wiping tears of laughter from his eyes as I cut him off and pushed him out of the door closing it behind him.
"Sorry about that," I said facepalming and pressing my back to the door so a childish Rigby could not re-enter. "No problem," She said chuckling, "He reminds me of my little siblings. Even as teenagers they tried everything they could to embarrass the shit out of me in front of people I brought home."
'God. How is she so cool?,' "Y-yeah," I stuttered, "S-so would you maybe want to go catch a movie some time?"
She grinned a sweet crooked smile,"So Rigby really wasn't lying," chuckling she continued, "how about tomorrow night?"
"Whoa, uh yeah sounds great," I said, "Do you need any more help unpacking?."
"No I think I'll be okay from here, but thanks so much for your help," she smiled at me as I was standing in her doorway and she walked over in a moment of courage and gave me a quick kiss on the cheek. I stood there dazed for a moment.
"Goodbye," I said quickly leaving her room. I heard her giggle behind her door. I just forgot Rigby and I are working the snack bar with her tomorrow. I rushed downstairs and found Rigby playing video games.
"Dude," I said with eyes as wide as dinner plates .
"What?" he asked while furiously mashing buttons on his controller.
"She kissed me on the cheek."
