Matthew's POV
"Wow. Why am I not surprised that Brian has a stock of exploding confetti." I say as I limp out of the dust cloud. When I get out, I bump into a tree. I slice the tree in half.
"The school year is over yet my life is still horrible." I sigh. Then again, we never finished our school year. We killed the principal.
I raise my hand and flood the area. This should work against Brian's electricity. Soon, the water level is over seven feet. I stand on the water and continue searching. Soon enough, I find Brian struggling to keep his head above the fast-moving torrents. His cloak is dragging him down. His sword is in its sheathe over his back. I reach down and grab him by the neck area of his cloak.
"Hey. Did you think you could betray us and get away with it?" I growl. I twist the top of his shirt to suffocate him. Just as he turns blue, I drain the water and throw him to the ground. I float high over his head. He stands up and raises his left hand, palm facing upward. The once-clear sky darkens with pitch-black clouds. A lightning bolt races toward him. With me right above him, on a platform of water... Usually this is considered bad, in my opinion. I jump off my platforms the direction of the tree I cut down earlier. I land and roll on the log. Unfortunately, a log is usually cylinder-shaped which is not a good place to roll. I fall off the tree and land on my back. The exact part I hit the tree with earlier.
"Ow..." I groan. I lay on the ground for a few moments before I get up and look around. The platform of water is now a puddle of electrocuted water. Brian is nowhere to be seen. Still, there can't be that many hiding places around here with the clearing and all. Maybe. I step forward. I start walking toward the pool of electrocuted water. Sure enough, a liquid-like shape rises from the water. Brian. I wait as the form rises from the water. He watches me, waiting for me to make a move.
"Brian... Why did you betray us in the first place." I ask.
"Because... I must have the power to rule this place. And all the other places." he yells. Wait. He hesitated. He's hiding something. Something besides the fact that he betrayed us.
"Brian. I know you betrayed us." I yell back.
"Well... Wait what?!? You only just figured that out?" he says.
"No." I reply. I duck as he throws his sword toward me.
I heroically duck. As I duck, I can see Brian jumping out of the tree behind me. He grabs the sword and slashes down toward me. Isabelle appears in front of me.
"Not this again." Brian growls. His skin goes pale. He goes through Isabelle with his sword aimed straight at me. Stupid go through objects.
I roll over and kick at him. He goes through my foot and pins my jacket down with his sword. He jumps out of the way.
"Oh no..." I say. I know this move.
Then, another Brian jumps out and kicks me in the chest. A final Brian (I hope...) jumps out and punches me in the throat. Ouch. That definitely hurt. Damn it. Brian's getting away again.
