I opened my eyes slowly my head had a pulsing pain as i raised my hand touching the back of my head feeling some dry blood. I groaned and then looked around, the fog slowly disapated and I knew something was really wrong. I was in a cave no where near where I had been or had fallen. I stood up carefully my head protesting the pulsing growing stronger slowly I looked around for my basket. It was a few yards away near the wall. As the pain subdued I noticed something, deep slow breaths. Turning slowly I found where it was coming from. A let out a quiet gasp, backing away quietly, I was in the wolf's den. The monster even the monsters feared, the demon, killer of men. I bent down picking up my hood and putting it on moving towards the exit, but then SNAP. I has stepped on a twig.  The wolf's ears perked up slightly , I held my breath. They went back down, I turned running out of the cave and back towards the direction of the path. Just when I thought I was safe enough I heard a howl and then a growl close behind me. I ran as fast as I could, heart racing my head pulsing again but it was too late he was right on my heals. I made the mistake of looking back and I tripped, again. There was a warm breath on the back of my neck and I turned pinned by him, the wolf, I looked up at him his teeth bared and a low growl coming from deep within his throat. He didnt attack though, I stayed there pinned and paralized with fear eyes wide, his dark eyes looked deep into my icey blue ones for a few seconds then finally I regained control of my voice letting out a loud scream that could be heard a mile away. "HELP" I screamed but it was no use, I screamed and screamed but no one would hear me. "shut up you idiot" I stopped screaming startled and looked up at the what I had just seen as a wolf. He was now a young man maybe 19, with dark eyes like the wolf and long dark hair. "wha..what?" I said confused. He looked at me and rolled his eyes "do you really think if I'd wanted to kill you, you'd be alive right now? stupid" he said with an annoyed tone as he got off of me and pulled me up. Though he was quite large and strong he wasn't much bigger than me. "my name is Damon, your grandmother sent me to bring you to her" he said slowly looking down on me. I looked at him still confused "I..I dont believe you, you're lieing, get away from me" I replied getting  up and moving away. He sighed and sat down mumbling "she said she didnt know much...but god she could'a warned me a little more than this...." I backed away still very confused then turned to try to leave. "you're going the wrong way, if you want to get anywhere near your grandmother you're going to have to come with me, she hasnt lived in that little cottage for years, you'd have known that if you ever decided to visit...." he said quietly looking around him almost suspicious of something. I ignored him and kept walking shaking my head, I had not just left my grandmother, I hadn't been aloud to visit her...not since my dad had passed, or at least thats what my mother always said, "you can't see her, she doesnt want to see you for a long time, maybe when you're older" she'd say after I started school, yet before that I remember visiting on each full moon with my father. By the time I'd come out of my own little world thinking of the past and such Damon had already caught up with me and was walking behind me about 2 yards away. "why wont you just leave me alone?" I said a tinge of anger in my voice. He shrugged and kept following. I wasn't very pleased with his response so I simply sat, and didnt plan to continue until he left me alone. The forest was beginning to grow colder and I couldn't help but shiver. After a few minutes Damon simply walked up next to me and sat down. "You're here for a reason and I'm here to take you to your grandmother so you can learn that reason, now you can either stay here and be lost or you can come with me, choose" He said slowly his voice more and more aggrivated. I sat there thinking for a moment, he was right, I was lost and needed to find my way somehow, and he was my only chance of doing that, a small chance but still something, I stood and nodded. "Fine, I'll come with you" I said reluctantly. He stood up straight and nodded, "alright then, I'm going to change now...this time...just don't scream and climb on, I can get there a lot faster with you on my back verses walking in this stupid form" he said and then Damon was gone replaced with the big wolf from before, but it's dark eyes were the same as Damon's and so was it's fur, so before climbing on I watched him carefully, I heard his voice in my head talking to me "Climb on we dont have much time". I looked around confused and then realized it was him, I slowly stepped closer and then climbed onto his back, once I was situated and had a firm grip on the fur around his neck, he began to trot, and then run until he was going a full sprint, the forest just a blur around me. Damon saw every detail and could make out every turn and every little thing that was watching. I leaned down closer to him, his fur was warm and around me was cold so I stayed like that for a long time. As the moon began to rise I could hear howling not very far away and Damon howled back. I was either completely screwed or almost to where ever he was taking me. We came to a large clearing with a meeting place in the middle. People and wolves were walking around going about their buisness until we came into view they all stopped what they were doing to watch us or more sprecifically me.
