Harry had always been blind. He was simply born without sight after his mom had spent his time being pregnant drinking and smoking who knows what. But the disability didn't stop Harry from finding love. Two years ago, he had bumped into Draco at The Eaton Centre and got in a humongous argument. Not knowing he was blind, he yelled at him about how he's "an idiot that can't even see straight", though he hadn't realized how near accurate that statement was.
When Harry began crying loudly at the impulsive and angry behaviour, since he was barely able to handle a simple "Hello" with friends, nevertheless a confrontation in a large crowded place. Draco had immediately apologized, still not realizing that Harry was blind. As a way to apologize, Draco took him to a nearby cafe where he realized the weight of his words and the truth of the situation. They had the best night of their lives at that diner and got quite taken to each other. The cafe was a popular place named The Hard Rock cafe. There, they had shy and awkward conversations before realizing how much they had in common. Draco and Harry were both avid Potterheads and were crazy for people like Sixpenceee. Their shy chats quickly turned in to excited giggles and loud references to their interests. He apologized at the end of the night, after walking Harry home. The walk home was the longest, yet also the shortest walk Harry ever had. Mostly because of the many detours they took in an effort to stay in the other's presence for a little while longer.
About a year or so later, they moved in together, where they spent their days giggling at each other and confessing their darkest secrets to each other. Often times, they had a game they always played, even at the darkest of times. One of them would grab the other's hand and slowly write out messages to each other again and again until the other guessed the message correctly. It became quite a habit for them to just grab the other's hand without thinking and just immediately begin carving in messages softly.
The habit quickly became quite a topic in their social circles, though more accurately, Draco's social circle since Harry barely had two other friends. But the talk of their relationship soon became cold as everyone began talking of marriage. Every time said topic came up, Harry's smile grew dull just a bit, as disappointment filled his heart. He felt that soon Draco would leave her. After all, he wasn't much to look at. Gross nappy hair and a mousy grin, or so he's been told by one of the people that had harassed him in high school. When he was changing in the bedroom, he could feel the small pudgy bits of fat on his stomach, and the small bumps that indicated the acne scattered around his face. He knew for sure, that there wasn't much to look at. Harry could tell even without his eyesight.
But Draco, oh Draco. He was for sure beautiful. The way his voice deepens when he gets thoughtful, and the way Harry could feel the corners of Draco's eyes crinkling when he softly caresses his face before bed, trying to memorize the feeling of the love of his life under his very fingers. He could feel his happiness rolling off of him whenever he got excited and the warmth when he hugged Harry tight to his body. His hugs warmed him sweet like a beautiful summer's day. He smelled like granny smith apples and fresh laundry. Harry huffed at the thought of Draco leaving for someone else.
Suddenly, he felt wrapping arms around him and a strong chin placing itself on top of Harry's head. Harry didn't realize he was swaying until Draco's arms made him stop.
"What's wrong?"
"Er- nothing?", he wouldn't dare telling him these concerns. Because if he did, Draco would realize the mistake he was making by staying with him immediately and dump him. He could never handle that. Though if he decided to leave Harry on his own without any of his inputs, he wouldn't, no, couldn't, stop him, he deserved a proper life, and not be dragged down by some annoying, clingy, and not to mention blind, boy.
"I'm not an idiot. C'mon tell me?"
"Nope" Harryt turned his head to the side he assumed Draco's face wasn't at to try and avoid this topic. Draco chuckled lowly and began peppering Harry's face with kisses. Draco's face was slightly rough as he had not taken the time to shave that morning.
"Ew, stop it. I might get cooties you dum dum." Harry pouted childishly.
"You know what, it would be totally amazing to get cooties from touching someone like me."
"Oh my gosh, you're so cocky." Harry felt a grin making its way onto his lips. He bit his lip
as nonchalantly as possible to try and hide the grin threatening to show, but Draco didn't buy it.
"Ou, is that a smile I see?" Harry covered his face and steadily made his way to the bed as fast as he could, knowing the way around the house after living in it for so long.
"No..."
Draco joined Harry in the bed and tucked him into his arms.
"Let's do the hand game." Harry nodded, still trying to conceal the persistent grin.
Draco grabbed his hands and began with the first letter
W
"You know, you may not believe it but I think you're the most beautiful person in the world."
I L
"From your silky black hair and your button nose,"
L
" to your freakishly tiny toes" Harry let out a laugh.
Y
"Wait, who's willy?"
"Shh" Harry furrowed his brows in concentration
O U
"Whenever you laugh, I feel like my heart beats harder with every second."
M
"I think you spelled William wrong" Harry giggled.
A R R Y
Harry let out a gasp, not believing the situation.
ME?
"Harry James Potter, I love you so very much. Will you marry me?"
Harry smiled tearfully and grabbed his hand and wrote the letters that would forever change his life. Allowing Draco hug her tight after comprehending the message. Tears filled his eyes. He felt as if those letters would be forever engraved in his hand.
