いつもかれがそのじんじゃをとおりすぎるとき、だれかがそのじぶんがこわしてまったぞうにきついたかをかくにんしました。
The priest of the shrine saw the boy and wondered of why he was there.
じんじゃのしゅうじょくはそのおとこののこをみて、なぜかれかれがそこにいるのだろうとおもいました。
As he approached the child, the child started to back away, scared that he was going to be punished.
じゅしょくがそのこにちかつこうとしたとき、おとこのこはばっせられるとおもいこれこなってにげました。
He looked away from the boy. He turned to see the boy again, curious to see exactly of what he was doing.
かれはそのこからめをそらしました。そしてまたそのこをみようとふちかえりかれがなにをしていたのかがきになりました。

じゅうしょくはそれをとり、なかをあけてみました。それはつぎのじんじゃのじゅしょくについてかめさま からのしらせでした。

なんかげつもたったあと、かみさまはかれらのもとにやってきて、おとこのこがそうぞういじょうにがんばったとよろこびました。じゅうはくはねんねんからだがあわくなりました。
The priest bowed down in agreement to her decision, for his time was reaching its end. And so it began as the child became the new priest.
じゅうじょくは、かみさまのかんがえにさんせいし、そのこはあたらしいじゅうしょくになりました。
With the support of the god and the priest prosperity soon followed throughout the years that went by.
かみさまのささえにはって、じゅうしょくになったそのこはなんねんにもわたって、ゆうふくなりました。
