Hi, my name is Shelby and I'm 14 years old.
I'm in love with this guy named Alec. I've been in love with him ever since I could remember. But there's one thing....
He doesn't love me back:(
Everyone knows he's in love with this girl named Rebecca but he denies it.
The thing about me is that I have never liked another guy before. I've always loved Alec. I've known him since we were little and I don't see what he sees in Rebecca. She's too perfect. Like she's never hurt anyone and never has done anything bad. We all know she only does that for her reputation. Alec doesn't see it.
I mean, Alec and I are friends, no more than that. I drop hints all the time that I like him but he doesn't seem to catch on. I will never just tell him straight out that I like him, that would be way to much pressure for a 14 year old.
There is another guy that I may have feelings for but they are the smallest, most tiniest, feelings you could EVER have!!! His name is Josh.
Everyone also knows that Josh is in love with me. Josh doesn't think anyone knows. He doesn't even think I know. It's pretty obvious. He's sweet, kind, and cares for anyone he loves, but I will never love him the way I love Alec. Of course I won't tell him that.
One other thing you may should know. My parents are best friends with both Alec's and Josh's parents. They both come over all the time. Let me tell you, the most awkward-est thing ever is when they are both over at my house at the same time. I don't think anything could get more awkward.
Tonight, both Alec and Josh are coming over, with their parents, for dinner. I'm so not ready for this....

"Hey Alec, Josh," I say as they walk into my house.
"Hey!" they both say.
"What are we having?" Alec asks, of course he would say that. He's a jock that won't stop eating but doesn't gain a pound.
"Ummm, I have no clue, sorry," I say back with an apologetic look on my face.
"Oh, it's cool, I'll go ask Mrs.Tyler" he says, as he walks toward the kitchen. (Mrs.Tyler is Shelby's mom)
"So..." Josh says.
"Yeah?" I reply.
"Can I talk to you after dinner, I want to tell you something important." He says.
"Oh okay, sure, in the meantime, let's go eat some grub." I say. I know he's gonna tell me that he likes me. He's liked me since we were little. (Btw, Josh has known Shelby since they were in diapers, if you haven't figured out already)
"Okay, let's go." Josh says.
We get into the kitchen and it smells like chicken Alfredo. It smells so good but I can't pig out cause there is the guy that I love and the guy that loves me in my house right now. Alec is standing with my mom and they look like they are talking. The rest of the adults plus my three siblings, Braxton and Brinley (who are twins), and my older brother Aaron, and Josh's 2 siblings, Gena and AJ, are in the dining room. I go over to my mom and Alec and start talking. My mom doesn't know I like Alec so she doesn't act weird or anything like moms usually do.
Dinner was delicious and actually non-awkward. It's actually time for both Alec and Josh to leave. Alec leaves first since we aren't best friends like Josh and I were. When Alec's family leaves, Josh's parents and my parents start talking. Josh pulls me to the side to tell that really important that he wanted to tell me "wink, wink"
"So, what did you want to tell me." I ask Josh who looks really calm which is surprising cause he's about to tell me his feelings.
"Actually, it's about Alec." He says.
"What?" I reply.
"Yeah, surprising right," he starts off. "Well anyways, Alec told me at school today to tell you something. This is weird for me to say but, here goes nothing.....
