"Lanelle, you need to stop thinking about him and give someone else a chance. I like you, and if you don't like me, then leave like he did." "Lanelle, get up!" Lanelle awoke to her Mom yelling her name. "Lanelle, Mettaton and Napstablook are here." Lanelle's Mother said. "Mom?" "Yes?" Lanelle sighed as she turned toward her window to see Mettaton and Napstablook waiting on the doorstep. "I miss Dad." She said, getting out of bed. " "He'll be home soon, I promise." Her mom said frowning. Putting on her bow, Lanelle floated down the stairs. "Bye Mom." Lanelle said, about to open the door. "Bye sweetie!" Lanelle opened the door to see her two best friends.
"Where's Mad G.?" She asked suspiciously. "That's why we came. Someone cut his home in half, so he's moving in a dummy in Waterfall... And he's not coming back. His parents put him in guard of the dump, so if he ever sees them, he can kill them." Mettaton said. "He also went crazy mad..." "Y-Yeah." Napstablook said. "But we can go visit him from time to time." Mettaton said. "My dad said I can't leave the Ruins." She sadly said.
"Oh. Ok. Well, what do you want to do?" Mettaton exclaimed. Every day, for years, Mettaton approached Lanelle's house with that same question. But one day when they were all teenagers...
"I have to go. But I will return in a few days." Mettaton said. "Where are you going?" Lanelle asked. "Somewhere in Hotland. So you can't come. Neither can you, Blooky. It's far too dangerous for either one of you." Mettaton said worried. "Hotland isn't far from our houses in Waterfall. And you are a ghost just like me and Blooky!" Lanelle cried. "Lani, I will return with a special gift. You'll be very surprised. You will be too Blooky." Mettaton said. Lanelle started to tear up. "We'll miss you..." She said. They hugged each other for a few seconds until Mettaton let go. He turned to
Napstablook. As Napstablook approached, he tightly hugged him. "I-I'll miss you..." Napstablook stated. "Same here. You're both like my siblings. And remember, if you ever need me, just call." Mettaton said. "My ride is here. Bye." He turned to them both before boarding and waved."WAIT!" Lanelle yelled to Mettaton. He tried to get off the boat, but it drifted away. "I'll just call her..." Mettaton thought to himself. As he looked in his bag, a smile grew. He was about to call her... But then realized his phone wasn't in there. "I'll be home in a week, so it can wait I'm sure..." He thought sadly. As Lanelle tried to call him, Napstablook grabbed her phone and ended the call. Lanelle looked at him angrily. "Give it back!" She demanded, trying to grab it. He then hovered it on top of a river. "Listen to me for once. I know you like him, but at least pay attention to me for just a minute." He said. "Otherwise, it goes in the river." She stopped trying to grab it and turned. "Fine..." He saw she was sad. But he could tell it wasn't for one reason only.
"Lanelle, .......I-......I-...." He stuttered. "Nevermind." He mumbled as he handed her her phone. Weeks passed. Mettaton still never returned... Napstablook and Lanelle were lying down on the ground in his house. As they thought of nothing, Napstablook arose and said, "Lanelle, I-I- Like you!" "And I know all you think about is Mettaton, b-but he's gone!" She looked at him speechless. "Uh... Well, you know what, just forget I-I said that..." Napstablook turned to the doorway as he heard footsteps in the hall. He looked shocked, and as Lanelle turned around to see what was there, the door was open. No one was to be found. ".....well.....I guess we can go out..." Lanelle said. And from that moment on, they were dating.
Mettaton had his surprise built and he stayed at his friend Alphys's lab. He would have returned home with his newly-built body, but he stayed there for more months, posting videos of him singing and dancing online. He became the All-Star of the underground. He left Alphys's lab, and sadness grew over the scientist. Months passed. She was building Mettaton's final body, until she realized she could use the spare parts she had to make two more bodies. Mettaton told her all about a girl named Lanelle and how she always wanted to be a singer. She found her account on UnderNet and sent a friend request. After they became friends, Lanelle asked her how Mettaton was doing. "He's doing fine. So Lanelle, I have a life-changing question for you." Alphys said out loud to herself as she typed. Lanelle read the message. She replied, "Alright, what is it?" She sent the message. Alphys read the message in her head and typed back slowly. Her hands shook. "Would you want me to build you a body? I know you want to be a singer, and I have some parts left to build you one." Alphys closed her eyes and sent the message.
Lanelle read it in shock. "I-I-BLOOKY!!!" She yelled out. "Y-Yeah, Lanelle?" He slowly said. "We need to talk. It's important." She demanded. "Okay." She sighed. "You know how much I want to be a singer?" She said as he nodded. "Well, I'm going to have to leave you. I got offered a new body by Alphys, the Royal Scientist. I'm sorry." She cried saying it to him. "T-That's ok. Live your dream, I guess." He sadly said. "This means w-we have to break up. I-I hope we could still be f-friends..." She said, still crying. He got closer to her as they sat. Her head was submerged into his chest. He felt nothing. He was so sad, he felt no emotion. All he felt was her head on his chest.
"I-I'm sorry..." Lanelle said, getting up. She looked at Napstablook, who was also looking down. He looked up at her. Their eyes met. His were blank while hers were full of tears. She slowly drifted away. "Don't look back Lanelle. It'll only make things worse."
She turned a little to the side. "STOP IT! You know you can't look. Leave him be. It'll only make things worse if you do." She kept moving until she stopped at the doorway. She turned around completely and went back. He looked up at her. "What did I do..." "Lanelle, I will miss you. But ple- You'll be better off without me. Just, don't forget me. I'll still be here if you decide to come back." He said. "Make sure to close the door." He said, drifting off. Lanelle packed her things and floated out of the house. As she closed the door, she looked at the three houses. Hers, Mettaton's, and Blooky's. "Sigh..." This time, she didn't look back. She left the houses in Waterfall and headed to Hotland.
