chapter eight

"Guys, seriously, I'm fine."  said Aquata. 

Its been almost half an hour since that seer thing possessed Aquata and Sirena and I have been keeping a very close eye on her. "We know" I said "We were just--" "Worried, I know" Aquata finished " But, honestly, I feel fine " she finished, putting an enphasis on fine. 

"Okay then" spoke up Sirena "lets go see if we can find that pool thingy" Oh right, I forgot that we had a place to stay, it's been so long, if fifteen days is long. I feel like it is.

We started circling the shoreline, being careful not to get too close, and also not to get too far, or we would either be caught or get lost. After a few hours of following the shoreline, we saw what looked like a tunnel in the sand. 

Sirena was the first to speak up "So, who's going first?" Aquata had a scared look in her face and Sirena did too, although she tried her best to mask it. "I'll go I guess." I said  This statement caused Sirena to let out a sigh of relief and give me a look of thanks. 

"We will be right out here, if you need us scream or, I don't know cry for help" said Sirena and, when Aquata wasn't looking, giving me a quiet thanks for going into the sand tunnel first. 

I'm gonna be honest, I was terrified and kind of not at the same time. I guess I wasn't that scared because I was hopeful. So I dove into the sand tunnel head first and prayed to the gods that the cave was at the end of this tunnel. 

As I entered the tunnel, it was actually a lot bigger than what it seems. The sand tunnel just went on and on until it was too dark and I had to feel my way through, we should have thought about this more, I kept thinking. But as fast as the darkness of the tunnel engulfed me light started to seep through what I guess was the entrance of the cave. 

And sure it was. The cave was more like a pond, abruptly stopping at a certain edge and solid rock began. It was as if it was built on purpose. Sure enough, it had a roof made of the same rock as the floor. It was a nice pool that led to the ocean through an odd tunnel, now, I had to find a way out. 

But I decided to get Sirena and Aquata first. 

Sure enough, I swam all the way back to face a worried Sirena and Aquata. "OH MY GODS YOU'RE ALIVE" they said in unison as they hugged me tight. After we broke apart, I began "So the cave is at the end of the tunnel, but we will have to make some sea lamps once we settle in" After that, I motioned for them to follow me into the sand tunnel until we reached the cave pool. 

"This place is pretty" said Aquata in awe "but, how do we get to land from here?" "That is a great question " I answered nervously "the truth is , I have no idea." When Sirena saw Aquata's features go even paler than she already is, she cut in "But we still have time to check out this place, plus we get to see if our new legs are even real" This calmed Aquata down a bit, but she still seemed a bit tense. 

"Aquata, what's wrong?" I asked her, slowly swimming up to her "How do we know if we can breathe above water? Not any Merr that I know of has gone above water" she answered, pouring all her worries into two sentences. "I guess we don't" I replied. Now, if there's any confusion, when I got to this cave, I didn't go above water, so anything I did see was what was close to the pool. 

"Okay" Sirena said, with a bit of hesitation, "let's all grab on to eachother and go above water, okay?" she said, mostly to Aquata. Finally Aquata nodded and we held on to eachothers hands. We all counted to three and went above water, something none of us has ever done, and what happened next, none of us could believe.

We could breathe.

Hello lovelies.

So it's been a while, but I graduated! I know some of you end school in the beginnings of June but where I come from, we finish early May. Graduation was awesome and I got valedictorian of my class!!!! 

That was awesome. 

Anyhow, since vacation has started for me, I might post more often. Might because I can't make promises I am not sure I can keep. If anyone has stayed, I applaud your dedication. 

Lastly, I hope you guys enjoy this chapter or even read it, it means the world to me.
