6 Months Later
I am being escorted back to the palace, but I have been assured that I am not in trouble, but I'm not so sure. I'm afraid something happened to my brother, is he sick? Is he dead? I must know what's going on.
I was led to the kings office and sent inside.
"Hello Ms. Carmine." He smiled. He took my hand and kissed it. I bowed my head.
"I was told you wanted to see me."
"Yes, I did."
"Why?"
"Because, I have a proposition for you." He leaned on his desk in front of me.
"A proposition?" I asked.
"I want you to come and work here at the palace." He smirked.
"What? Why? I haven't done anything wrong!" I exclaimed.
"Yes, I know. And I am going to ensure that you do nothing wrong. Ms. Carmine, I am not asking you to work at the palace, I am telling you, you will work here, you will start next week."
"But your highness-"
"No. Buts. Elizabeth!" He cried.
"Your highness!" I cried back.
"You NEVER speak that way to me! That's one!" He lunged at me and was in my face, his hands grasped my arms firmly.
"One what?" I asked.
"My employees are only allowed three mistakes in their work. You, Ms. Carmine, have made one by yelling and questioning your king." He explained.
"Oh, alright." I became quiet and mouse like.
"I would be willing to forget about it though. If..." He smirked
"If what?"In one swift movement, he grabbed my hand and pulled me to his chest. I was face to face with his amulet, it has been passed down through the royal family, it was positively goregous.
I was snapped out of my thoughts when his highness wrapped his arm around my waist.
"If you will be mine, Elizabeth, while you are employeed here." He brought his lips on top of mine, they were touching, but he didn't kiss me.
"Do you mean, be your...lover?" I asked, after a long pause.
"Yes, and hopefully one day...you will be my queen my darling, Elizabeth."
