Chapter 28

Frank 

I sank to my knees. My love, my life, my everything, m-my Hazel, was gone. She had been sucked down into the underworld with her undead mother right before my eyes, and I couldn't save her. I felt tears unashamedly roll down my cheeks. 

I sensed somebody behind me. I turned and looked up. It was Leo. "What do you want Valdez?" 

"You look like you could use a hug." He said, and for once in his life, he spoke seriously. I stood and faced him. He hugged me. Then the rest of the seven, plus Calypso, all came over and joined the hug. All except Nico, he doesn't care for physical contact. 

When we pulled away I noticed that Annabeth and Piper were crying. Percy was too. I looked around. The guests had left. The pavilion was empty except for 8 demigods, some hanging lights, and several knocked over chairs. "I'm going to get her back." I said decisively. 

I turned and started walked towards the Ares cabin. "Woah, woah, woah, big guy. You can't just leave. Something like this takes planning," Jason said, stopping me. 

"Pick two people to go with you and we can plan around that." Annabeth suggested. 

I nodded. "Ok, I want Nico to come, because you know, death king. And Piper we could probably use your charm speak." They both nodded. They were in. 

"Just wait til morning, then we can all go talk to Chiron, see what he suggests." Percy told me. I nodded. I turned away and gloomily walked back to the Ares cabin.
