Mission Gone Wrong
She looked out at the man-made lake to the mansion where their target sat. Their mission? Simple. Assassinate the leader of Americas largest drug cartel. It took a while to get here, but they got his name and the location of his mansion. She looked over to her partner, his code name was Eclipse, just like hers was Serpent. The two of them together were an unstoppable strike force. This particular mission was about stealth, get in, get the job done, and get out. She held her fingers up and counted them down from three when her last finger was down the two of them sprung from their positions crouched in the undergrowth and dove into the lake. Holding their breath they swam to the bottom and pulled a grate off of the underground tunnel entrance that stuck into the side of the lake. The two of them slipped in, pulling off their wetsuits and dumping them into the water before replacing the grate. Silently they pulled switch blades from their pockets and opened them before slowly walking forward. Eclipse lead the way following the mental map he had of the place to where they needed to be. The froze, hearing voices above them, but soon kept moving when they knew they were in the clear. Soon, they stopped where they needed to, and lifted the grate off. Quickly, they climbed out and up the ladder to the room, unseen. The stayed low and inched their way forward to the door that would take them to Demetrius Arsenius, the leader of the cartel. End pulled a bobby pin out of her hair and fit it into the door, unlocking it manually before putting in the code to keep the alarm from going off. She put her hand on the handle and pulled it out, only to get the barrel of a gun pressed against her forehead. As if in slow motion her hand reached out and hit the finger over the magazine release, causing the mag to fall out of the gun, as her other hand reached up and slid the slide back, causing the bullet to fly from the chamber. She then ripped the gun out of his hand and spun around, slamming the hilt into the temple of the goon closest to her, causing him to hit the ground unconscious. She scanned the area and saw that Eclipse had taken down the other two, and she turned and sprinted through the door, causing the alarm to go off. She cursed. So much for getting in and out without being noticed. They made it to the room where Demetrius was supposed to be, just as a slow closing door slammed shut, and Eclipse pulled it open and they ran through the hallways, following the sounds of pounding footsteps, finally, they made it out of the mansion and onto the helipad just as the helicopter was lifting off the ground. She sprinted forward and tried to throw herself on it, her fingers grabbed the edge and she held on as they rose up, ten feet, she attempted to pull herself up, twenty feet, the goons noticed her, thirty feet, they struck their guns into her hands and pushed her off, she fell and slammed into the concrete. She pushed herself into a sitting position as Eclipse appeared beside her, and the two of them watched the helicopter disappear. They looked at each other for a second, fearfully, this isn't going to go well with the team leader.
•Time Skip•
A thing about our team leader, his codename name is Hawk, no one knows his real name but he's the most strict leaders there is. Right now Eclipse and End were standing in his office as he paced back and forth In frustration. He stopped and gripped his chair hard enough to turn his knuckles white.
"Would one of you care to explain how this very simple mission went to hell?" He hissed out. Eclipse opened his mouth to reply but Shade beat him to it.
"It was my fault, sir. If I had been more careful we might not have gotten caught." She hung her head, and Hawk shook his head.
"Get out, both of you. You will face punishment in the morning."
They nodded and walked over to the teams' barracks. On the door were the words "Prodigy Squad" It was a joke in the building, all of them lived here, and all of them were under the age of 20 so they were considered prodigies. William was on the top of his bunk, tapping away at his computer when the two walked in. He looked up at them, along with his bunk mate Skylar, who was sharpening her knife. On the other side of the room, Cain and Scarlet were playing a card game but stopped when the two walked in.
"Soooo?" Cain asked, referring to the conversation with Hawk, Shade.
"He just told us to get out." She flopped onto the bed as Spencer climbed into his bunk above hers.
"But you didn't have to take all of the blame, it was my fault too." He leant over the edge and looked over at her. "You'll get the brunt of the punishment now." She shrugged. It didn't bother her, they couldn't think of anything too bad.
All the names and all positions will be gone over in the next chapter. Just sayin'.
This Chapter was brought to you by Apollo's horrid Hikus.
