Noah POV

I was working on the next project to bring Browntown into the Industrial Revolution. My thoughts were taken away from the current experiment to someone opening the flab. "Ami has lunch in the main cabin ready." "I'll be there in a minute." I put the wires down and take my glasses off. I walk out of my tent to see the family sitting around the fire. I didn't see my wife. "Has anyone seen Lacy?" Bear said "She was by the creek next to the garden." "I'll be back." I walk to the creek. I walk past the garden and I didn't see her. I told her not to go anywhere without her gun. The bears were looking for food to survive the winter. I walk closer to the creek to see her laying by the water. "Honey, lunch is ready." She didn't move, I thought she was asleep. I walk closer to see blood coming from her head. I lean down to see a rock underneath her belly. "Lacy wake up. Please wake up. I need help!"

Rainy POV

I can hear someone yelling. It sounded like Noah. I walk to the garden. He shouts again. I look past the garden and see Noah. I run to him to see what is wrong. "Go get help, it looked like she hit her head. Go get the boys to help me carry her and tell Grace to be in the medical cabin." I turn and just run. Snowbird noticed me first "Rainy, what is it?" "Lacy fell by the creek. Noah needs help carrying her to the medical cabin." Bam, Matt, Bear, and Gabe go to help Noah as Grace went to the medical cabin to get everything set up.

Noah POV

I had her head on my leg to look at the wound. I was looking on how she fell but it didn't make any sense. The way she fell, it like she had been pushed. The boys come into view as they picked her up. I walked closely behind them as they carried her to the cabin.

Grace POV

I see them coming down the trail and go to open the door. "Lay her on the table. Quickly, we don't know how long she had been out." She is set on the table as I check her head. "Noah wait outside please; I will come get you later. I need the room to work." I get out the ultrasound machine to see if the baby still had a heartbeat. I keep searching and searching until I hear a strong heartbeat. Hearing the baby made me feel a little better. I clean the wound on her head to see a gash on her head. I stitch her head up and I put a bandaged on to keep it clean. She would need to stay in bed for the next few days. She needs to wake up to see how bad the injury is. I walk over to the door and see him sitting on the front step. "You can come in now." He rushed past me to see she was still unconscious. "Why isn't she awake yet?" "She should wake up in few hours. I can keep first watch if you want to get some rest?" "No, I'll stay all night but before sunset, I need to go check something." "I'll watch her until you get back."

Noah POV

I walk back to the creek to see if I could find any clues on how she fell. I look on the grass to see if anything was there to trip her. Nothing. I look to the riverbed the see a foot print. It looked like a man's footprint. I see another and another as the trail leads into the woods. It looked like someone had pushed her down and I needed to know who. I walk back to medical cabin to see she was already awake. "I was so worried. Are you okay?" "I feel fine." "How did this happen?" "I went to the creek to stick my feet in the water. I was feeling really hot and just needed to cool off. Then a man walked through the creek towards me. I stand up to as he was walking fast. He wanted to leave the family a message. "I will get back what is mine." Then he pushed me onto the rocks. I think it was the man that had taken Amelia hostage as year ago. Eleanor's ex-husband." "I thought he was dead." "I guess he isn't." Grace and I locked eyes worried when he might show up again. I take Lacy home and put her to bed and I rocked Stefan to sleep. He was a sleep before I had put him in his bed. I need to tell the rest of the family. I walked over the Bam home to tell him of the danger against Eleanor.

Bam POV

Eleanor and I were talking before we went to sleep. I leaned over to kiss my wife as we started making out. She was on top me as we heard a knock at the door. I push her off of as I get up to answer the door. It's Noah "What do you want, I was in the middle of something." "We found out what had happened to Lacy. She was pushed by Eleanor's ex-husband. She told Lacy to tell us "I will take back what is mine" I think he might be watching us. He is getting as close as the creek." "He was found dead in his cell. It can't be him." "Did you ever see the body?" I let that sink in. Chris was trying to take my wife away from me. "Okay, we need to take precautions on everyone. Each man need to take care of their homes. Our guns need to be loaded and laying next us as we sleep." Noah left as he went to tell everyone else. I turn towards Eleanor as she was sitting up in bed "What was wrong with Noah?" "We found out what had happened to Lacy and she was pushed by Chris. He is coming after you." I could see her face became frighten at the thought he was staying in the woods. I go over to her and take her in my arms. She was shaking like a leaf in a storm. "He is not going to get anywhere near you. I wouldn't let him. I'm never leaving your side. Not for one second." I pull her into the bed as I pull the covers over her. After she fell asleep, I take my gun and made sure it was loaded in preparation to protect her. I laid it up against the bed. I stay up as long as I can until I fell asleep.

Each family member was taking precaution to protect their families. Each man has a gun beside their beds. The children were staying in the same bedroom as their parent to keep them close.

Chris POV

They know that I am out there somewhere. I'm watching their every move. I couldn't wait to have my wife back. I would kill every man, woman, and child to get my wife back. I will wipe out Browntown to get my wife back. The pregnant woman was so easy to take down, I hope she lost the baby.
