Look around, see me.
But maybe you won't.
I'm just another face in the crowd.
I'm not who you'd expect.
-Sivan

who is sivan? connor thought, as he folded back up the note. he scratches his hair, thinking. his thoughts are interrupted by arms wrapping around his waist.

"hey babe!" the voice announces. bethany. connor turns his body, facing his brunette girlfriend. she looks up at him, puckering her lips for a kiss. connor smirks and presses his lips to hers in a quick kiss.

he turns back to his locker, placing the folded up paper inside. he smiles a little, wondering who this girl was that was obviously crushing on him.

he and bethany walk to their third period class together, math, with miss stangard. they walk hand in hand, as always. bethany always liked to show off her boyfriend. make sure that everyone knew he was hers.

bethany was your typical popular girl. she was snobby, from first glance. once connor got to know her, he actually ended up liking her a lot, that being the reason they were dating.

connor, the star football player, swimmer, and cross country runner, was a perfect fit for her. though for them it wasn't love at first sight, but connor had changed a lot since freshman year.

he looked way better, more attractive then he did when the two first met. it was their senior year, the beginning of it. they met in their freshman year, when they were awkward teenagers.

bethany had been bullied since she was 13, and moved to oak ridge high school for a fresh start. she was always spoilt growing up, she always got what she wanted, when she wanted it.

connor didn't, however. he worked for everything that he got. his first camera, saved up for. he did a paper route in order to save up for it.

the two were basically polar opposites when they met. but once connor came into the whole 'popular' spectrum, he became more like her.

he was fast friends with kian, sam, trevor, ricky, and jc. the six often hung out at kian's large house, playing video games. the six boys were the most popular in the school. everyone knew who they were, and wanted to either date them or be them.

connor didn't particularly like being popular. sure, it was great at first. everyone wanted to be him. everyone loved him. but, being popular was actually really annoying for connor.

it was similar to being famous, really. he was always being watched, and could never get a moment alone. but, he learned to get used it.

sitting in math class, the green eyed boy found himself drifting off. miss stangard just continued talking about linear equations, which connor had no clue how to do.

he hadn't always been the brightest. he eventually closes his eyes, drifting off into a light sleep.

he awakes to a few light taps on the shoulder. he jerks around, only to be met with the most stunning blue eyes he had ever seen. "s-sorry connah." the boy murmurs, in his australian accent.

"i just wanted to wake you up to tell you that class is almost over." he whispers, and connor nods his head. "thank you...." he begins, and quirks an eyebrow, trying to think of the boy's name.

"sorry... what's your name?" he asks. "troye mellet." the boy, troye, answers. connor smiles, reaching to shake the boy's hand. "nice to meet you, troye mellet." he muses.

troye smirks at the boy's giddiness, and adjusts his glasses as they shake hands. the bell rings, and the whole class stands up swiftly. "don't forget your homework! page 527 to page 540 for homework!" the teacher yells after her students who are already leaving the room.

"see you around, troye mellet." connor says, smirking. "see you around, connor franta." troye muses, and he walks off, swaying his hips. how come connor had never met to, or talked to troye before?

"who was that?" bethany asks, smacking her gum loudly. connor sighs. "troye mellet." he says, and smiles. "oh? well he's a nerd. don't be friends with him." she says, as she takes connor's hand, pulling him forcefully to the lunchroom.

the two grab their food, salad for bethany, and pizza for connor. they go to their lunch table, shoo any people who aren't supposed to be there away, and sit down.

"jenn!" bethany squeals, and connor inwardly groans. "bethers!" the two hug tightly, then sit down. "hey connor!" jenn chirps, as she begins eating her salad. "hi jenn. how was mexico?" he asks.

"hawaii, actually..." she mutters, as she stabs a fork into her salad. "ah, how was that? you look tan!" he says, trying to sound as excited as possible.

"well, yes. i tanned most of the time." she muses, twirling her hair. luckily for connor, kian arrived at that moment, pulling his girlfriend andrea along with him. "beth!" andrea squeaks, and connor inwardly groans once again.

where was zoe when he needed her? he thought. zoe was the only friend of bethany who wasn't incredibly annoying, and actually was really nice to him.

finally, jc arrives, jenn's boyfriend. then trevor, flying solo as always, followed by sam. sam and trevor both didn't have girlfriends. ricky arrives with his girlfriend, lana. she immediately scurries to bethany's side, and the boys all sit with connor.

"how are you today, connor?" ricky asks, looking at connor expectantly. "i'm good, i met a new friend in math!" he says, excitedly. "honey, he's not your friend, he's a nobody." bethany coos, as she looks at her boyfriend lovingly.

connor rolls his eyes, and ricky smiles sympathetically. "what's his name?" trevor asks, suddenly interested in the conversation. "troye, troye mellet." connor says, as he thinks about the blue eyed australian.

trevor gets a weird look on his face, his eyes bugged out and his eyebrows quirked, but connor brushed it off as nothing. it's not like trevor would hide something from him.
