Just a story

Part ii

Today was our school fair. Kim and I are seniors and on the student council. We were working one of the food stands. I could see Jason and Taylor over by the photo booth. Kim had obviously seen me staring, "Stop it. He's not worth it"
" What?  I'm not doing anything," I lied.
" I can see you staring. Have you forgotten what he did to you?" She asked
" No! And I wasn't staring," I said
"Yeah, sure " she said sarcastically.I shook my head to try and clear my thoughts of him. Luckily I had a customer to help me with that.
Once our shift was over, Kim and I met up with everyone else. We spent the rest of the day enjoying the fair. We went over to the kissing booth, we had hot dogs for lunch, later we went on all the rides and played all the games. After that I went off with Talia for her shift at the Cotten Candy stand.
Suddenly, Jason appeared, " Hey Talia can I please get two? " he asked
" Yeah sure. " she said and turned to get some
" Hey Sof, " he added
" Hey, Jason! What's up?" I replied.
" Not much,"
" Here you go," said Talia as she gave him his cotton candy.
" Hey, Taylor and I were just about to go on the Ferris Wheel if you guys wanna join us?" He motioned to Talia and myself.
" Sorry, I can't. My shift isn't over yet. But I'm sure Sofie would like to go." Talia looked at me.
" Yeah, sure. I actually think Kim is already in line" I said.
" Oh yeah, it looks like she's talking to Taylor," he said as he looked over to the two of them.
I should probably tell you that Taylor is Jason's girlfriend. She is really tall and skinny and she's pretty. The walk over to the queue was beyond awkward. You could cut the atmosphere with a knife. I alway thought there was some sexual tension between Jason and I. At one stage, there could of been something between us..... But the timing was all wrong and nothing, besides a kiss, ever happened. His girlfriend, at the time, had just relocated and we were on a school trip. We just kissed but once word got out he, being in a relationship, had to deny it all. He couldn't be seen with me for a while in case any suspicions. rose that he was cheating. So we never really talked about it - it was about two years ago so we were pretty young and immature...
" Hey, babe! I was just telling Kim about my fear of heights - she has the same problem." Taylor came over and kissed him.
" Yeah, we've decided to make a pact. Neither of us are gonna freak out on the Giant Wheel of Death." Kim told us. Jason didn't say anything, he just gave Taylor her Cotten Candy.
" Hey! I have a great idea.... Why don't we sit next to each other - you know, for moral support" Taylor asked Kim.
" Okay! But only if that's okay with you two?" Sofie looked at Jason and I.
" Yeah, anything is better than sitting next to a screaming Kim." I said. I heard Jason chuckle.
" Perfect!" Shouted Taylor. As those two continued with the the rules of their pact, Jason offered me some Cotten candy, " Thanks" I said as I took some. His smile broke the tension. He has such a nice smile...
As the sun went down the line got shorter and the conversation became easier. Jason told me about his relationship with Taylor and I told him about my niece and nephews which lead to a discussion about our futures.
" So how many kids do want?" He asked me.
" Definitely two or maybe even more - I think it depends. You?" I replied.
" Yeah, same. Pets?" He continued
" The more the better! " I said with a huge smile.
" Oh right. I remember - you told me on our school trip a few years ago, right?" He asked
" Right! Yeah, I did say that - I can't believe you remembered that" I said impressed that he remembered.
" Yeah, I remember a lot from that night," he said as he looked away.
" So do I, " we shared a moment. He stared at me with those beautiful eyes...
" Ahh! We're next! " Tyler's squeals broke our stare, " I love you, babe" she kissed Jason and run up to sit down.
" I'm sorry " he told me as we took out seats.
" About what?" I asked,
" You know, about what happened after - it all," he said avoiding eye contact.
" Yeah, me too. But it's fine - it was a long time ago.." I told him. I went in for a hug, " we're good - I'm just glad we're friends again."
" Yeah, me too. Friends." he said.
Just as we got to the top, the Ferris wheel stopped very suddenly. We heard both Kim and Taylor scream.
" What happened?" I asked as I grabbed onto him.
" I don't know, " Jason replied. He looked over the side and saw the ride conductor bang the controls.
" Well, that doesn't look good," he said as he sat down again
" What?" I asked
" I think the ride is broken," he replied
" Broken!? What do you mean broken? Are we safe up here?" I asked getting kind of worried. We were right at the top. We could hear commotion from below. It looked like the conductor said the ride was closed and called a technician.
" We'll be fine. It's probably just a technical difficulty," he said trying to reassure me.
We had been stuck up here for almost thirty minutes when I started getting cold," are you cold?" Jason asked seeing me shiver," Yeah, a little. " I admitted, he took off his jersey and put it around me. He moved closer to me," Thanks" I said blushing slightly,
" No problem" he said.
...
After a few more minutes, we started talking again, we laughed and I think we even started flirting a little.
" You know, I always wondered if you even liked me?" He confessed,
" Well, obviously. I wouldn't have kissed you back if I hadn't." I told him, " I actually thought that you didn't like me after that - I thought that maybe I had done it wrong" I continued, " Honestly, you were my first kiss"
" Really!?" He sounded shocked
" Don't sound so surprised," I said starting to laugh out of embarrassment,
" No, sorry. I just had no idea. You did nothing wrong - it was perfect. And I never stopped liking you - it was just terrible timing "
" Tell me about it.." We laughed. There it was again, we had another moment. He moved closer. There were fire works - literally, they came up right next to us and scared the crap out of me. We admired them for a while and then when I looked back at him, he wasn't looking at the fireworks, he was looking directly at me.
He came in and we kissed just as more fireworks went off. It was magical - I felt like I was in a movie. The kiss went on for what felt like forever, and it was so passionate. I could have done this all night, but shortly after, there was a jerk and the Wheel started to move again. We pulled away. As soon as we got off, Taylor ran straight into his arms, " Oh my god, that was the scariest thing ever! Are you okay?" She asked kissing him all over, " Yeah, I'm fine" he said, avoiding her lips.
