The Immortals

Prologue

There's a shout. Then there's a whisper. And everything goes silent. I feel the sun creep upon my skin, it's warm. My eyes crack open. I'm shaky, but I manage to lift myself. Everything around me is a blur and slowly, my sight comes to me. The tall buildings of a city look down on me, meanly. I hear the sounds of engines rumbling, birds tweeting and people talking in all types of tones.

A small lady walks past, she didn't even notice the presence me. What... What is going on?

"Hello?" I walk to a man in a blue suit, guiding the cars to go in all directions. "Hello!?" I repeat. He ignores me.
As he steps over to stop a car, his left hand flies right through my head. I realize. This isn't real. All of around everything stops. Not a movement, not a sound. The earth begins to shake, I know it isn't me, I'm not that powerful.

I try to control the grounds anger, but my powers are useless. I'm useless. What the hell is going on, I wonder.

As the bright colors of city fade into a shade of black, it shatters. Everything just breaks. The buildings collapse as if been bombed. The people turn into black ash, and so the city perishes.

My heart thundering, I run. I just run.  I don't stop. What do I do? I — I cants remember a thing. Where did I come from? Who am I? What's going on?

As I sprint through this lonely place I trip, and I fall. The city shifts into the vast open landscape of grass. I'm home. I remember.

Alice stares at me. Worried. "So? What did you see?" She asks.

"I saw, I saw," I'm afraid to tell her the truth.

"Listen here Eva." She begins," we're immortals, we can't die remember. We're protectors of earth. We all have our special abilities. Now, what did you see?"

"I saw the end." I gulp.

"The end of what?" She gasps.

"The end of humanity. They're coming. And there's nothing we can do."

Hey, so this is the prologue and it's very short just so you guys can get a feel of what this book is about :). And for those of you who are lost its basically, in the future and there are people who have magic and protect earth. And some have more than one power etc. I hope you guys are enjoying it :).
