A sky of violet, shouts of battle and pain resounded through the valley. A tall creature stood in the distance. It's body was large and strong. It was covered with hair and it's eyes were as white as the full moon. It turned and blood was dripping from it's maw. It opened it's mouth and let out a horrifying howl. It then ran and pounced onto a man and terror filled his eyes as the beast consumed his sight.

"AHHH!" screamed Aiden as his sweaty body shot up in horror. He instinctively threw his arms up and shielded his head.

"Aiden! What's wrong?" said a voice. Aiden removed his arms from his head and saw his father in front of him.

"Nothing, just another nightmare." he said panting and wiping the sweat from his forehead.

"Again? You've been having more and more nightmares lately." his father said in a concerning manner.

"Dad, I'm fine." Aiden said while stretching.

"Alright. Well, come downstairs. Breakfast is ready." said his father with a small smirk.

Aiden took a deep breath. He noticed the smell of sizzling bacon and chocolate chip pancakes, his favorite. He tried to remember what the date was.

'August 4th right?.........MY BIRTHDAY!'

He grabbed a shirt and ran downstairs. He then saw the kitchen table holding the ultimate breakfast buffet; bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, orange juice, biscuits, and yes, a giant stack of chocolate chip pancakes.

"Happy 17th Birthday Aiden Nathaniel Richmond." said Aiden's father.

Aiden turned around and saw his father holding a small box. He handed it to Aiden and smiled. Aiden took the box and opened it. Inside was a silver pocket watch. He opened the watch and saw the white background and the black hands moving slowly. On the other side of the watch he saw a picture of his mother. Aiden's mother had died in a hostage situation ten years back. The police used a sniper to take out the criminal. After he had a shot, the criminal moved suddenly and the bullet was shot into Aiden's mother. It flew into her shoulder and she died hours later due to severe blood loss. He stared at the picture. He loved her long brown hair, tan skin, pointed nose, and copper eyes. A tear started to fall as he stared at the picture.

"I miss her." he said.

His father placed his hand over Aiden's shoulder and said, "Me too Son. Me too."

Aiden's father was a tall man. He had pale skin, like Aiden, but had completely different facial features. Aiden's father had a long and round nose. His eyes were a teal color and he had short blonde hair. Aiden attended King's Court Academy. It was a triple level school that had elementary, middle, and high school all in one building. Aiden was a good kid. He got decent grades, had some good friends, and was a great athlete. At school, he was known as the "Swiss Army Athlete." He played football, basketball, baseball, track, soccer, and wrestling. He best skill by far though, was his art. He was an amazing artist. He would draw beautiful portraits of men and women. He would sketch animals and natural wonders of the world. He would take things from his dreams or nightmares to draw. He would think that if drew people or things from his dreams, he could remember them better. If he drew the things from his nightmares, he would then burn the drawings, hoping it would help him forget them. He was also not bad looking. He was tall, had a strong looking chest, long arms and legs, had red eyes and pale skin, he had short black hair, and had a small nose. He had an odd feature as well. Inside his mouth, four of his teeth were pointed, like knives. At a distance you couldn't see it. You would have to open his mouth and stare right at them to notice. He was adopted as a baby. His parents weren't able to conceive. When he was five, his parents told him that as a baby, they adopted him in Europe. He had not been given a name yet, so his parents decided to name him after both of their fathers, Aiden and Nathaniel.
