I woke up the next morning and put on my Hakuna Matata sweatshirt and capri yoga pants and seafoam green converse. I put on a little mascara and grabbed my backpack, sketchbook, phone, and keys. I wasn't going to be home till around nine because I was babysitting. Today, I was going to be babysitting new kids who just moved in. Thomson would not stop bugging me all day and tomorrow I was going to be presenting my all about me project. Can't wait. Not. I dropped Britt off and drove to my clients house. I pulled into their drive and grabbed my bag then walked to the door. I rang the doorbell and the door was answered. "Hi, you must be Mickayla. I'm Mrs. Thompson."
"Hi, it's so nice to meet you."
"You too, come on in." She said and I stepped in and took off my shoes. "Okay, so this is Logan. He is 4. You are welcome to take anything from the fridge and his bedtime is six. Me and my husband should be home around nine but we may be late. My other sons should be home before then. They will use their keys to get in. If you need anything call one of us. Logan, this is your babysitter Mickayla, I want you to be good for her."
"You can just call me Calli and he shouldn't be any problem."
"Thank you, bye Calli. Bye Logan, I love you."
"Love you to mommy." He said and hugged her. He is so adorable. I grabbed his hand and we watched his mom leave. We played with legos and then I made mac and cheese for dinner. After we ate, I got him ready for bed and read him a bedtime story. I tucked him in and turned on his night light and walked out shutting the door behind me. I brought the baby moniter downstairs and set it on the coffee table. I sat down on the couch and worked on my calculus homework. After I finished that, it was around seven and I turned on the tv. I found a show and got up to get a snack. I got some white cheddar popcorn and walking back to their living room I looked at some of their pictures. They were an adorable family. All of a sudden, I heard the door start to rattle, it was one of Logan's brothers. I turned around to see Thomson and another guy standing in the door way.
"Calli, you're Logan's new babysitter!?!" Thomson exclaimed.
"Thomson, you're Logan's brother?" I said making the disappointment clear. "And how many times do I have to tell you it's MicKayla!" I should of known he was his brother it was so obvious. Ugh, so not only can he torment me at school but outside of school too. I peaked at the picture next to my hand and it was Thomson, man I really need to be more observant right now.
"Yeah, isn't it great! Now we get to hangout after school too!"
"No, Thomson. I'm here to babysit your baby brother that's it. That's what I'm going to focus on. Not you but Logan. He's the only reason I'm here and the only reason I'm going to keep coming. I would ask why you can't babysit him yourself but I know it's because you're to immature and too incompetent." I said back.
"ouch, that moment when a girl rejects you for your four year old brother and makes her hate for you clear. She also calls you incompetent and says that if it weren't for Logan she wouldn't come. Only you could screw this up this badly Thomson even though we haven't even lived here a month. Can you believe this?" The guy behind Thomson said in an English accent.
"Yes, yes I can. Also, Thomson I thought you said you moved here from California not England." I said turning to Thomson.
"You are right Callifornia, we did move here from California not Britain. This is my older brother, Chad, he's a senior at our school and an absolute royal pain. He likes to speak in an English accent because we're English." He replied.
"Never call me Callifornia again or I will kill you and trust me no one is more of a royal pain than you. And if you don't mind I would like to get back to ignoring you." I replied and he went down to the basement.
"Well, Miss. MicKayla because me and Thomson are here you do not have to stay." Chad said in an English accent. Again, he always speaks in one.
"Aww, Chad you can call me Calli and its fine I'll stay until your parents come home."
"If you insist, and if you need anything please let me know."
"Actually Chad, I do. Can you do me a favor and keep your brother away from me?"
"Why of course Miss. Calli." He replied and went down to the basement, where Thomson was. I sat back down on the couch and before I knew it their parents were home. They paid me and I went home. I walked in and found my parents waiting for me by the door.
"Hi." I said.
"Hey, how was it?" My dad asked.
"Good except when I found out who his older brother was. He is so annoying."
"Whose his brother?" My mom asked.
"Thomson. The new kid. My locker neighbor. The guy who always gets on my nerves."
"The guy who likes you." My dad added.
"He doesn't like me! Anyways, what do you want?"
"We have a surprise for you up in your room. Its one of your birthday gifts it came in today." My mom said. I walked upstairs and opened my door on my bed I found a little honey brown maltipoo with a white belly and a red bow tied around her neck.
I dropped my bag and ran over to her. "We know you've been wanting a dog, so we thought it was the perfect golden birthday gift. We chose her for you since she was golden too." My dad said.
"Thank you, I love her." I said and hugged them.
"Good night." My parents said and walked out, closing the door behind them. I decided to name her Mickey, that used to be my nickname. I sometimes get called that still, but mainly its Calli now. Her fur color reminds me of my hair color. I was just about to go to bed, when I realized I needed to get my stuff together for the all about me project. I got that together and headed to bed by midnight.
