Caught in the Middle: Cpt. 1

Caroline's POV:

I can't believe it's already a new season on the Cheetahs. Oh sorry, I forgot to introduce myself. Hi, I'm Caroline Alvorado, I'm 14 years old I've been on the cheer athletics Cheetahs for two years already. My best friend in the whole entire world, Mackenzie Sherburn. She's my rock and she helps me with all my problems no matter what.

But there is one more thing you should know about me....I'm crazy about this one guy on the team....Ahh I just can't stop thinking about him!! He'll never like me back though, *sighs* plus he's a few years older than me too. Whatever. Enough about me though.

As I was saying... I've been on the Cheetahs for about two years and we've won the World Championship last year. I was so happy when we won! This is why I hope we have a good, strong team this year so we can take home the championship at worlds again.

It's the first day back at tryouts and the football team is sharing the court with us. I mean who doesn't want to stare at Matt's six pack? We're waiting for the other girls to join before we start.

Oh, look, theirs my best friend right now. She waves and start to make her way towards me, flipping her dark brown hair over her shoulder.

"Hey Mack, what's up?"

She puts her bag on the floor, next to mine. She wore her sports bra and spandex, something she always pulled off.

"Oh my god, I'm so excited were both on the Cheetahs, again, this year!"

"Me too! I really hope Matts on the team again."

The boys started to file across the other side of the gym and started to do there workout. Matt started to work on his push-ups, his biceps flexing every time he did.

I must have been ogling long because I saw Mack give the that 'bitch-I-know-what-you're-doing' look.

"You still have a crush on him?"

"Yes and I think it's grown more since the weekend we went to the championship."

And it was true. At first I just liked his looks and how sweet he is, but now I like all of him. The way he smiles when you say 'heyyo', how he puts his hands inside his shirt, how he tilts his head to the right some way, and the way he puts his arm around me when we talk.

"You gotta get over him Caroline, or you have to go tell him how you feel. You can't just keep someone as hot as him, as a crush."

"Why do I have to tell him how I feel? I'm perfectly fine crushing on him in silence."

"Cause if you don't tell him you'll never find out if he likes you back. And you won't get none of, that."

"I don't know if I want to take that risk. I mean it could ruin everything!"

" Well it's your choice but who knows. He might be secretly crushing on you too." Yea right. That will happen when SpongeBob gets his license.

" I don't know Mack, I'm scared."

I pulled off my shirt and put on my cheer shoes. The boys just finished their workout and are now on the break.

" Don't be it'll be fine Caroline, you're going to have to tell him some time. Look there he is now!"

Fear coursed through my veins as I pulled Mack back before she could do anything stupid.

"Oh gosh I don't know if I'm rea-"

"HEY MATT! COME OVER HERE FOR A SECOND! CAROLINE HAS SOMETHING TO TALK ABOUT!"

Matt runs up to us, slowing down to a jog before stopping and putting an arm around my shoulders. His blonde hair falls in front of his eyes while his toned chest rapidly falls up and down from the run.

"Hey Caroline! What do you want to talk to me about?"

"I'll leave you two alone to talk." Mackenzie snorts before heading off to the opposite side of the court to join the other cheerleaders.

"Mack! Wait!" I try to reach and grab her, but she is out of my firm hold (by none other than the God-like Matt).

I switched my weight from each foot and bit my lip, something I do when I'm nervous. His smile fades as he looks at me in concern.

"Hey, Care, you know you can tell me what's wrong okay?"

I looked up at him, his blue eyes taking captive of my soul. I knew this wasn't just a crush. I took a deep breath ready to finally let it out.

"Well....To be honest I...."

Hey guys this is my first story I'll actually try to finish. I'll be posting every Tuesday each new chapter. I'll be making this fan-fiction have my own twist in it too since the original author hasn't ever finished it. It's been a year and a half since since they've updated it so I'll finish it my own self. If you liked it, it would be nice if you would leave me some feedback on what you think of the story so far.
