Hi! Oliver here. As you know, I am Ren's roommate. Now, yesterday only being my first day, I'm surprised at how much I already know about Ren. I mean, his powers are definitely the most surprising of all. But...I know he's a good person, so it should be fine!
Waking up the next day, I see that Ren is already getting ready for class. Now that I look at him, he looks too normal to have powers that I would have never guessed.
"Good morning, Ren."
"Oh, morning."
I got up to get changed. Oh, yeah...that is a problem. I don't like changing in the same room as others.
"Um...Ren? I'm gonna take a shower..."
"Okay."
As I step into the shower, it hits me. Will I ever have to tell Ren...? Th-that might be a problem...well, I shouldn't let this bother me. He probably wouldn't even care, so I should forget about it for now.
Stepping out of the shower, I realize that I forget to bring my uniform with me. Um...I could ask Ren to get it for me, but...that would be too embarrassing...
So, I decided to go out there quickly and just grab my uniform and come straight back before he noticed me.
Well, at least that's what I hoped happened, but it didn't go well.
I quickly ran out with a towel around my waist, but stopped before I could grab my uniform. I saw Ren looking at me, blushing slightly.
"Ah....u-um..." I stuttered and blushed a little. I grabbed my uniform and ran back to the bathroom.
That was...that went horribly! How can I face him now?! I'm way too embarrassed, so I guess I could just wait for Ren to leave...but he would probably just get worried or something!
I put on my uniform and wait. I can't face him like this, so what else can I do?
I hear the bell ring. At this rate I'm gonna be late! I then hear the door close. Did he leave...? I opened the bathroom door to see Ren right in front of me.
"Come on, were gonna be late."
"O-okay..."

Later, at lunch, Ren invited me to the rooftop with him.
"Wow..." I was in awe at the view of the cherry trees.
"Yeah. That's one reason I come up here." He started "I like the view."
We ate in silence mostly, with some small talk in between.
"Hmm, You seem popular..."
"Popular? What do you mean?"
"The girls in class. They seem to really like you."
"Oh...I guess." I replied, blushing slightly. Ren looked away, also blushing. The rest of lunch was in silence.
Back in class, it was the usual. It was math class and...I'm not good at math. To be honest, I'm not good with anything that deals with numbers. I look over to Ren to see him doing fine. I guess he's pretty good at math, at least better than I am. You know, I envy him...he's really good at math and science. I suck at both.

Back at our dorm, I lay on my bed on stare at the ceiling.
"Oliver, do you plan on joining any clubs?" Ren asks. Actually, I was thinking of joining one.
"Maybe. I was thinking about the cooking club."
"Cooking?"
"Yeah. My mom owns a bakery back home and I've always been interested in baking because if it." I replied, smiling. I'm gonna miss my mom, but I know I can visit her during summer and winter break. "What about your parents, Ren?" As I said that, his eyes widened.
"M-my...parents?" His voice was shaking. I guess they're a sensitive topic for him.
"We don't have to talk about them if you don't want to." He looked like he might cry, but looked away quickly.
"I-I'm fine, it's okay..." He finally replied, shaking off that sad expression. "So, what's it like in England?"
"Hmm, well it's a lot more open. I didn't live in a big house, just one above my mother's bakery. There's a lot less people, as well." I answered, noticing him seeming to be pretty interested. "You could come back with me during the summer, if you want." I smiled as I told him. He blushed, which made me blush, causing us to look away awkwardly. W-what was that? Why is he blushing...is he also...? No, he can't be. If he was, I don't know what I would do.
Pushing off that thought, I asked, "Where do you live, Ren?"
"Huh? Oh. I don't live far from here. I can walk from here."
"Then why do you stay at the dorms?"
"I only live with my brother, Haru, who's a senior here." He answered. So he doesn't live with his parents...I shouldn't ask about that. "Also, I have some family in America, since I'm half American." He paused for a little bit. "But, I've never been to America to meet them."
"Do you plan to visit them?"
"My brother will tell me if they want us to visit. My aunt keeps in touch."

Later that evening, Ren was taking off his hoodie and changing into his undershirt, as I was too. I blushed at the slight sight of his chest, but quickly looked away. I finished changing and got ready for bed.
Laying in my bed, a question came to my mind. Why does Ren have those powers? I know it's personal, but as his roommate, I can't help my curiosity.
"Hey, Ren?" I asked, not even turning to face him. I heard him move slightly.
"Hmm? What is it?" He answered. I was nervous asking this, and was about to, but shut it away.
"Ah, um...n-nevermind." I finished awkwardly. I heard him move, probably to look over at me, but quickly moved back. I fell asleep fast afterwards.

While we were getting ready for class the next day, I saw Ren walk over to the door. He picked up something that looked like an envelope.
"Hey, this is for you, Oliver." He said walking towards me an handing me the envelope. It had my name on it, and a heart sticker used to close it. I opened it, to see that it was a love letter. My face felt hot as I read, because I've never gotten a love letter before.
"Um...she wants to meet me by the cherry blossom tree during lunch..." I wasn't sure what to think, since I've never been confessed to before.
"So, you gonna meet her?"
"Of course! I don't know how I'll answer, but I at least want to show up."

At lunch, I waited by the tree. I saw a girl with our school uniform, so I assumed it was her. She shyly walked up to me.
"Umm...I think you're really c-cute.." She started, her face as red as a tomato. "Would you...go out with m-me?" My face felt a liitle hot. I don't want to do this, but I have to.
"Ah, sorry, but I can't." I replied. "But we can still be friends, rights?" I added, smiling at her. She looked sad, but seemed to except it well enough.
"Okay...I get it." She said with a reassuring smile.
She stood there for a while, then quickly walked away, as I did the same. I went up to meet Ren on the rooftop. There, I wanted to tell him something. I just wasn't sure how.
"So, how'd it go?" Ren asked.
"I went fine, but I turned her down."
"Why? She was cute," It seemed like he mouthed something afterwards, but I couldn't tell.
"Well....um.." I stuttered, trying to get it out. I'm not even sure how he'll take this, if we could still be friends. Trying to find the right words can be hard.
"I'm gay."
