"I'm so nervous." alyssa says while texting Her boyfriend.
"Me too." I say while keeping my eyes on the road admiring this busy California traffic.
"I can't believe it's been 18 weeks second trimester." She says.
"Yeah i know. Is William coming?" I ask.
"He has football practice before the game, but im gonna get the video for him. Did you invite Jose?" She says.
"No." I say quietly.
"Ashley. He's the baby's dad, he needs to be a part of this."
"We barely talk anymore."
"Make a effort then." She says.
"He should be the one not me."
"Well Jose is not that type of person so your gonna have too." She remarks.
"Fine, i'll call him." I say and pull out my phone and dial his number.
It rings a couple times....
"Uhh hello?" He says.
"Hey, what's up?" I say not
knowing anything else to say.
"At work taking a break. What about you?"
"On my way for a doctor's appointment."
"Oh, for the baby?" He says. His voice changes at the word baby.
"Yeah. I find out the gender today."
"Oh cool. Umm, are you going to the football game tonight?" He asks.
"Yeah i was thinking about going. Why?"
"You should come. I'm going with some friends and we should talk." He says.
"Alright, i'll see. I gotta go." I say.
"Bye." He says then hangs up.
"What did he say?" Alyssa asks quickly. She seems nervous.
"He said that I should come to the game tonight and that he wants to talk."
"We're definitely going then." She says.
"Haha yeah."
