Maximum Ride: A New Year To Remember

I was brought to this place in the desert by Dylan. Without my knowing, he brought the whole flock too. Everyone counted down to the New Year, which really didn't mean much to me. Just another day without my sweet precious Angel. Dylan held me in his strong arms and I looked over to Fang with his flock. He was holding Maya's hand like he used to hold mine.

"So what are we doing here?" Star asked.

"You'll see." Dylan then smirked and checked his watch. The sky lit up like an explosion reading 2012 on it. He did this with the help of Iggy and Gazzy, no doubt. "Happy New Year!!!!" He then pulled me into a long kiss. I pressed as hard as possible, taking all my anger out into a kiss. Crap, I'm sounding girly. This kiss, I hope made Fang's veins burn.

 "Can you stop being all mushy gushy for one moment please?" Gazzy protested, "It gets kinda annoying."

Dylan and I pulled apart, my face blazing red hot. "Sorry," I wiped my mouth. "Too much PDA." I didn't wipe off the smug look though. Maybe Maya should dye her hair red, remember how Fang is HOT for red heads (check book 2, School's Out Forever)? "Hey, Maya, ever thought of dying your hair red? Like a fire engine? Or a ginger? You have the freckles, just need the red hair. It'd be the perfect look." Maya glared at me so it was basically like glaring at myself. Fang tried holding her back, but she broke his grip on her arm.

"DON'T YOU DARE TALK TO ME LIKE THAT."

"I can if I want to, I'm basically talking to myself and this part of me DOESN'T GIVE A CRAP." I couldn't help chuckling to myself. Immediately, a sharp pain torn through my  jaw. WTH? My hand found its way to my jaw where blood was pouring out. That would leave a mark. An uppercut landed right on Maya's jaw, she was stupid enough to stand right next to me after that right hook, just saying. "I hope Fang likes a girl who has a BIG bruise on her jaw from the original her."

"Seriously, Max? You have to act like this to your clone? This really shows how immature you are." Fang just rolled his eyes after this.

"Yeah? And who left me by leaving a note just sitting there AFTER I THOUGHT I LOVED YOU?" Venom poured onto my words, sometimes I impress myself.

"Because I thought that's what was best for the flock, you know this. And, for a man of few words, SHUT UP." Fang always has known my weak spot. Apparently, my new one was "my heart", according to Angel. This was also when we HAD my precious Angel.
