"I knew when they shot me with the sterilizer there was something wrong." He mutters look down at the floor. "If we keep it a secret it'll buy us a few more months to live." He says with a sense of hope. "Yeah I-". Before I finish my sentence he grabs my waist and kisses me. He throws me down onto the bed, him on top of me. Our lips touch and he pulls me in closer. I retract myself and let my eyes drop to the floor.
"What?" He whispers as we both sit up.
"What are we going to do?" I begin to cry and bury my head into his shirt. He props himself up and pulls my chin so our heads are at the same level. "I don't know...We'll make it work."
" I don't know when it'll come..." I stutter.  "Alicia, Pakston, Zoe, Jesse, they'll figure it out."
"We've known them all for a long time, I think we can trust them." He whispers. "Let's just tell them" he stares into my eyes and places his hand onto my stomach. "Together" I say. I get up from the bed and open the door. Before I walk out the door I give him a reassuring nod.
When I walk into the kitchen I Alicia still hard at work not missing an edge or corner. I sit next to her, silently with much tension in my bones.
"SURPRISE, BEACHEEES!" A voice screams. I turn around to see the voice belongs to Jesse. I get up and run towards the door where Jesse is grimacing his classic smile. I attack him with a jumping bear hug. "I missed you! How long did they keep you?" I ask. "I lost track after a month." I add quickly. He releases me, and laughs. "About Two and half... It's so stupid. I don't care about the rules." He smiles. I laugh and turn and see Alicia still hard at work. "Alicia, Jesse's back from detainment!" I yell. "It's not like I haven't see him before, I'm not getting up. If you want a hug from me your gonna have to come and get it." She cackles. Just then Jesse, spanks me in the butt and walks over towards Alicia. I feel something forming in my stomach, like someone is prying at and stepping on my abdomen. I rush over to the sink and lean over to projectile vomit all over the area.
"Caleigh!" Alicia screeches.  She rushes over and gently pats my upper back.
"Are you alright? You want me to get Leighton?" Jesse asks.
"No, I'm alright. I don't think those birthday waffles settled in with me. Either that or Jesse's presence just makes me-" I begin to vomit again, while Jesse flees the room.
"I think I'm good now."
Jesse escorts Leighton to the sink, Jesse laughing at what I presume to be the fact that I'm throwing up.
"What's wrong?" Leighton questions.
"Are you blind dipshit? I ain't no Sherlock Holmes or whatever but I can see she's sick." Jesse snickers.
"Did I ask you what's wrong? Because I already know what's wrong with you, it's what us doctors call retarded." Leighton laughs, and beckons me over.
"No I'm fine, I think I ate something that didn't agree with me." I reply.
"Just come to my office and we'll check you out."
Leighton escorts me to our medical room and shuts the door. He picks a book of his shelf with a little yellow book mark in it. He drags his chair from his little 'station' over to the bed. He opens the book and hands it over to me.
"What your experiencing is morning sickness. it is very common and I'm afraid that we don't have the proper medicine to treat you." He says his eyes looking at me like daggers. "I also regret to inform you, you aren't going to make it." He laughs, taking the book from my hands. I roll my eyes and open the door. "Thank you" I say courteously. "Your Welcome." He replies. I'm halfway down the hallway when I realize I forgot to ask him what he did with the test. I turn around and halfway backing when I hear a muffled sound. I sprint and open the door. Leighton's face is blue, coughing violently. I immediately perform the Heimlich maneuver, pulling his stomach towards me. He coughs four little white objects up and exhales rather quickly. He rushes over to the objects and conceals them in his hand. I look over at the table and see a pill bottle marked "Oxycotin"  and a water bottle.
"What is this?" I ask sternly.
"It's nothing. Thank you for saving me though." He replies. Covering his mouth and coughing again.
"This doesn't look like nothing." I add. It then suddenly makes sense now.
"We're you trying to kill yourself?"
