First Day Of School

-Khayla POV-

I grunt sitting up in my bed and turning my head to the left. I slam my hand down on my alarm shutting it up. I'm happy today is the first day back to school, well for two reasons. Reason number one: I'm a senior now. Reason number two: I get to see my best friend/ future boyfriend Jacob. I throw the covers off of me and get out the bed heading to the bathroom. I bumped into someone while rubbing my eyes "Ericka" I say look at my little sister in her eyes. She's fourteen and is a freshman in my high school. "Yeah and watch out next time" she said rolling her eyes and walking down the hall. I sucked my teeth and made my way into the bathroom. I quickly undressed and got into the shower to begin my day.

Once I'm back in my bedroom it's 6:45AM which means Ericka is getting into the shower right now. I get dressed and look at myself in the full length mirror. I shrugged and began to do my hair, which I didn't put effort into. I grabbed my bag and checked myself out one more time. I blew a kiss at myself and smiled before heading downstairs. I made it downstairs smelling bacon, eggs, and pancakes. Ma gotta be cooking I thought making my way into the kitchen. "Morning Ma" I said sitting down at the table. "Morning" she said handing me a plate and kissing my forehead. "Can I have some orange juice please" I asked nicely. "How old are you again" she asked. "Seventeen" I said confused by the question. "Are your legs broken" she asked. "No, what does this has to do with getting juice" I asked eating piece of my bacon. "Get it yourself" she said and I rolled my eyes getting it.

20 minutes later Ericka found her way into the kitchen. "Ready for your first day of high school" I asked her smirking. "Yup can't wait" she said actually excited. She's only happy because her friends go there so she doesn't have to worry about making friends. "Well let me get my keys and we can be out" I said getting up and grabbing my car keys. "Wait I ain't eat though" she said trying to finish my food. "Come on I'll buy you McDonalds or something" I told her. She sighed walking over to me "Bye Ma see you later" I said walking out of the kitchen. "Love you" she yelled. "Love you too" Ericka and I said simultaneously. We made it out the door and into my white 2013 Dodge Dart.

-30 minutes later-

I pulled up to the school and parked my car in its regular spot. We got out the car and I was telling Ericka who to mess with and who to leave alone. "Khayla I'll mess with whoever I want" she said. "Alright miss bad ass see you later" I said going up the hill to meet up with Jasmine Parks. Jasmine is my day one nigga, well female. "JASMINE BABY" I scream causing a few heads to turn our way. "Hi Khayla boo" she said smiling and embracing me in a hug. "I've missed you" I told her being completely honest. "Same here" she said letting go of me and leaning back against the railing. We're outside the school on the stairs "So where are the boys" I asked referring to Jacob L. Craig, Rayan, Jacob P., and Chresanto. "They said they'll be here in ten" she replied and I nodded. "Why don't we go get our schedules" I suggested and she nodded. I turned around "ERICKA" I screamed causing heads to turn around again. She turned around looking away from her friends and I waved her over. She made her way over with her friends "What" she asked. "Let's try that again" I said because her attitude was crazy right now. "Ericka" I said calmly. "Yes Khayla" she said with a slight attitude. "Come get your schedule" I told her turning around and making my way into the school building.

"Name" Ms.Ramos asked. "Khayla Thomas" I responded and she searched for my schedule. "Here you go" she said handing me my schedule and I walked away looking over it. "AP Biology, Studio art, AP Calculus BC, AP English, Lunch, French, Economics, and US Government" I said reading my schedule out loud. "Dang you have like three AP classes" Jasmine said snatching my schedule out of my hands. "That's because I'm smart" I said snatching her schedule out of her hands. "Let's see what you have" I said turning the paper towards me. "AP Biology, French, AP Calculus BC, Studio art, Lunch, Economics, US History, US Government" I read out loud. "We have like four periods together" she said as we exchanged papers. "Well it's better than no periods together" I said and she gave a funny look. "What" I asked. "Periods together" she said and started laughing. I rolled my eyes laughing a little.

The bell rang signaling for first period. I looked around searching for the boys "Ugh they're never on time" I said rolling my eyes. "Stop feenin' they'll be here" Jasmine said linking her left arm with my right arm. Ericka came over to me showing me her schedule "I have classes with all my friends" she said smiling. "Let's see if you have any AP classes" I said taking the paper. "AP American history, and AP English" I said smiling at her. "Good job" I told her handing back the paper. "Yeah now I'm gonna take my ass to class" she said smiling and walking out of the cafeteria with her friends. "I think we should do the same" Jasmine said and I nodded. We made it to first period AP Biology and took our seats in the second to last row in the back. We're by the windows so I can look out and see whoever is entering or leaving. Ms.Ramos walked into the class "Why the hell is she in here" I asked Jasmine. "Doesn't she teach regular Chemistry" she asked and I nodded. "Morning class I am Ms.Ramos and I will be teaching AP Biology this year. You may kn-" she got cut off by a bunch of people coming into the classroom.

"Thank you for joining us, please take a seat" Ms.Ramos said to Jacob and the rest of the boys. "Jacob sit here I saved you a seat" I told him moving my bag. "Good looks" he said hugging me before taking a seat. I smiled and told the other boys hi and hugged them, Jasmine did the same and they took their seats. "Now if we're done with this meet and greet" Ms.Ramos said placing her stacks of papers on the desk. I turned my head to the left "Why are you late" I asked Jacob whispering. "Because he wanted to talk to some freshman" Chresanto said. "They're too young for you" Jasmine said and I nodded my head in agreement. "Fourteen ain't too young" Rayan said giving dap to Jacob. "Y'all need to find girls y'all own age" Craig said. "For real" Jacob P. said agreeing. "Do I need to split you seven up" Ms.Ramos asked irritated. "No" we all responded quickly. "Then stop talking or I will" she said before starting her speech again.
