Chapter 20: Operation Steal The Wand (Part 2 of 3)

Mabel headed back to the Mystery Shack and told me she'll meet me at the diner when Dipper and Ford leave.

I walked down the streets. Finally, I'm one step closer to finishing my deal with Bill, I just hope he doesn't add anything else to it.

I was walking when I someone called my name.

"Is your name Tom?" The voice said.

I turned in the direction. A creature sat on a bench. He was an odd looking thing. He had a grayish complexion and a long face. He wore a suit and was definitely not human.

"Depends, who are you?" I replied.

He gave a charming smile, "My name's Toffee,"

"What kind of name is that?" I said.

Seriously, Toffee, that was the stupidest name ever.

"Well, it's more creative then Tom that's for sure," He replied calmly.

I twitched. Who was this guy? Insulting my name like that. I felt my anger bubble up inside of me.

"Who are you?" I asked, "And what do you want?"

"Let's say I'm an old friend of the Butterfly family,"

He knows Star's family?

I stepped back, "What do you want?"

"I heard Star lost her wand,"

"She didn't lose it." I said firmly.

She didn't lose it, she broke it, but there was no way I could tell him that. If he knows Star's family, he'll tell and she'll get in trouble.

"And I hear you are after the wand." Toffee said.

"Umm, what?"

"The wand." He said sternly, "You want it."

"I don't want it, I want to fix it, for Star,"

"Don't lie!" He snapped, "I know about your deal with Bill!"

"What?"

"You are giving the wand to Bill, and using the little girl, Mabel, to help you!"

Okay, who does this guy think he is! He can't just yell at me!

"I'm not giving Bill the wand!" I growled, "He's going to fix it!"

"Don't be stupid!" Toffee shouted, "Bill is keeping the wand for himself! He tricked me! He was supposed to give it it me, but he backed out! You can't trust him!"

"What?" I snapped, "Why do you want the wand?!"

"To destroy it!" He stepped closer to me, "And you aren't going to give the wand to Bill, you are going to give it to me!"

"No! I'm going to give it to Bill to fix and return it to Star! It belongs to her!"

He gave a cruel laugh, "How dumb are you? You really trust Bill?"

Next thing I knew, my fist was flying towards his face. Toffee roughly grabbed my hand and shoved me to the ground.

I quickly hopped up and ran at him, "It doesn't matter if Bill is lying or not! I'm still not letting you destroy Star's wand!"
