I knew my face must’ve been complete and total horror as the ladder fell backwards. I couldn’t even scream for help as I silently fell backwards gripping the ladder’s sides until my knuckles turned white. Below me, my brothers were yelling “WEEEEEEEEEEEE” not considering how much pain we’d be in afterwards. In my shocked state I saw the figure on our roof pulling out something that looked like a gun and shoot four soundless shots. Though soundless, it snapped me out of my trance and I started screaming as loud as I could and then everything went black.

Ohh, how long was I out? My head hurts. I opened my eyes, but I couldn’t see anything. Did I turn blind? Where am I and what happened? I couldn’t think straight, like I was distracted. Sorta like when you’re supposed to be doing homework, but your favorite show comes on TV and you try to do both and the TV takes all your concentration. Then it all came back to me. The thumping, the ladder, the figure, the gun, and my brothers—MY BROTHERS!! Where are they?! They should be right here with me we were on the same ladder. I was panicking like crazy. If I lost my brothers I’d never forgive myself. I wish I’d just have stayed in bed and just gone back to sleep. Why would I go out 5 in the morning? Now I lost my brothers and I don’t know where I am and—

“Hey are you ok?” Said a voice.

“I just fell off a ladder onto my neighbor’s roof. Oh yea, I’m alright.” I replied.

There was a chuckle. “You didn’t fall off a ladder, I transported you and your brothers before you could hurt yourselves.”

“My brothers? Where are—“ I was interrupted by the sound of a door bursting open.

“AMBA! AMBA AMBA AMBA!!!” Shouted two five year old voices, this could only mean one thing. My brothers are here and safe and alive, for now.

“AMBA! GUESS WHAT! THEW’S REAL ROBWOTS AND DINOSWAURS HEW!! WE GOT TO WIDE THEM. JACK SHOWED US EWYTHING! HE SAID HE’LL SHOW YOU TOO WONCE YOU WAKE UP!”

“So you guys are alright?” I said after his speech.

“YES AMBA, WE’RE AWIGHT, BUT COME ONNNN AND LET’S EXPLORE WIS JACK!!!”

“Who’s Jack?”

“I’m Jack.” Said the voice I heard earlier. I could just hear the smirk on his face.

“Why can’t I see you even though I have my eyes open?”

“Oh, we put goggles on you to block out the light. There’s a lot in here, I’ll take it off.”

I heard the sound of rubber snapping and scissors cutting and then I was blinded by an unbelievable amount of light.

“Sorry,” Jack said with another chuckle. “forgot to warn you.”

“That’s ok, it’s better than seeing your face.” I shot back.

There was silence. Ha, I won. I blinked my eyes a couple of times as they adjusted to the light. I saw Josh and Chase on either side of my bed and then I saw Jack. I take back my comment. I’d rather have seen his face than that light. He was totally hotness. He had long black spikey hair that hangs over his colorless eyes—wait colorless? His eyes had no color, it was clear, not white but clear, that’s weird. But on with the description, his face was set in a permanent intimidating smirk. He was wearing a tight black short sleeved shirt that showed off his muscles and abs (he was completely and totally RIPPED) and from what I could see as I sat up in bed ripped blue jeans.

“Oh goody! You’re dressed Amba, let’s go!” said Josh, breaking the silence.

I looked down. I was wearing the same clothes as yesterday. My night clothes. I was sitting in bed, in front of a (16..?) 16 year old boy in my night clothes.
