Caleb's birthday: a day feared by all his friends. This is due to the immense stress that comes with planning a surprise party that ends up not being very surprising due to someone letting the secret out, that's usually Alex (on accident, of course) or one of the others who are clumsy enough to accidentally text the EXACT person they should not have.

But, in a way, it was fun. It was fun keeping that secret from Caleb and decorating the space to look like a pretty-princess party. Pouring Sour Cream and Cheddar chips into neon pink bowls decorated with hearts and tiaras, coupled with matching bowls of multiple other snack varieties. Littering the floor with pink streamers and the table with pink and white confetti. Little 'princess' gift bags were lined up neatly on a side table where a bowl of individually wrapped old-people candies sat. A florescent pink banner with white paint hung across the entryway saying "Happy 16th Birthday Caleb." Everyone thought it was funny, especially Emma. Every time she walked into that room she would just die, and it was like that for most of the day.

They had games set up, a list of Caleb's favorite movies to watch, snacks, princess party favors. It was sure to be a 'lit' party. Not in the drug sense but in the amount of dank memes that would inevitably be shown and the obscene carb intake which would likely plague everyone's diet. Not like most of them cared at that moment anyway.

Everyone waited anxiously for Caleb to arrive with Isaac who was tasked with preoccupying him (which shouldn't have been that hard given their status). It was pretty simple as Caleb did tend to get off track relatively often, especially when it came to boys, namely: Isaac.

When he walked in the door and saw the display in front of him, his face turned red and he laughed, everyone else did too as they yelled "Surprise! Happy Birthday."
It was cheesy- they knew.

Things wound up with the games and Alex's usual competitiveness combined with Emma and Caleb's excessive laughing and Skyler's overall bitchy attitude which let off when she started to let loose a little. It was also kinda fun to see Nicole there although she didn't make very many appearances since she got on the side of the relatively popular kids, but they all loved her just the same and it was almost  like nothing had changed.
Almost. Although , this almost was not to do with Nicole, but rather with Jessica, who was having her own party.
A pity party.
Jessica slept with a lot of people, not all of them guys, not all of them used condoms- not all of them did a lot of things. But not all of them had a lot of sense, this is directed towards Isaac who believed her lie of some sort of pregnant via sweat thing. It wasn't long until HEd remember basic biology and figure out she was bluffing. By that time, she hoped she'd have everything figured out- key word: hoped.

Due to Jessica's hyper-sexual behavior, she didn't really know who the father was, which was unfortunate by anyone's standards; but especially her's because she could wring him for child support money, but blaming the chivalrous and loyal Isaac would get her far enough depending on how long he believed her lie, which she had a hunch would not be long.

Back at the by far more fun party, movie night had begun. All the girls were having a late-over until about 1 A.M. When Emma and whomever else had a car would drive people home, that left the boys to continue watching movies and eating junk food whilst the others go off to their own houses (although they didn't) and watch tv and eat junk food alone. Amazing.

They watched The Force Awakens because it was the only one everyone could agree to watch because it was more modern and Skyler had never seen any other Star Wars movies so it was the easiest way to start her out on it.

On the sectional, mostly everyone sat squished close which wasn't a big deal- they were all friends anyway, however in order to make room for Alex, the smallest, to sit, a few people had to put arms around each other to eliminate shoulder space. Two of those people ended up being Isaac and Caleb.

Nobody in the group was particularly perceptive that evening due to their minds being filled with the chemicals in all the processed foods but EVERYONE could see something happening with Isaac and Caleb (previous chapter is ISOLATED- remember), even if the two couldn't see it themselves.

1 AM rolled around all too soon for some, but not soon enough for others. Some people- namely Emma, had fallen asleep and made it difficult for those who needed a ride to their next destination to actually leave due to her insistence on sleeping because, well, nobody really needs a reason to keep sleeping.

Once they've gotten sleeping beauty (actually not, more like sleeping disaster) awake, the girls and Alex were on there way to a not-guy sleepover which was sure to be interesting.

(I'm leaving this here because I don't know what guys do at sleepovers)
