Later That Day
After breakfast I went up stairs and had a shower, before getting changed and doing my hair.
When I came back down to the lounge room I see that Sam has relocated himself to the couch.
I don't think he realized I had come into the room, so I went up behind him to scare him but before I knew it, he turned around and grabbed me.
He picked me up and sat me down on his lap.
"Not fair," I said while barring my face into his chest.
I heard him laugh before resting his chin on my head and wrapped his arms around me.
If only he could hold me in his arms for hours on end but I knew this moment wouldn't last.
Sure enough it didn't. There was a knock at the door.
"I'll get it" I said as I got up and headed to the door.
"Dad?" I said with a confused look on my face when opening the door.
"Hi, honey can I come in" He said trying to give me a hug, I declined his hug and politely ask why he was here. Frankly he didn't deserve my respect and I didn't even want to see him ever again after what he did to my mum.
"No, you can't come in you are definitely not welcome here. Considering what you did to mum," I said holding back my tears.
"So just go. No one wants you here" I said pushing him out the door way.
"I'll be back Kayla, I'll hurt you like I hurt your mother, and this time I will succeed" he said as he walked away laughing evilly.
I closed the door and as I turned to walk back to the couch I was stopped by Sam.
I looked up at him as one tear drop rolled down my cheek he quickly wiped it way before he held me in his arms. As I cried into his chest.
He made me feel safe, but I knew I wasn't.
My dad almost killed my mum, he put her through so much pain, she still has scars from the physical abuse. He intended to kill her.
We never went to police about it because we knew what he'd do if we did.
"It'll be ok I'm here to protect you," Sam said trying to comfort me.
"But I won't be okay, you don't know what he is capable of. He tried to kill my mom, and he almost did."
By this stage Sam had carried me up to my bed and we where just lying there. Sams arms wrapped around waist and my legs wrapped around his body.
I looked at him and he just pressed his lips on mine. (This is so cheesy)
We still retain eye contact as he moved in close again so our noses where touching.
"Don't worry I'll protected you" he said pulling me to his chest.
How could such a good day turn so BAD, I thought to myself as my eyes closed and I fell asleep still embarrassed in Sam's warmth.
