I found my homeroom and when I walked in all of the students on the room were in the little groups making light chatter all across the room I could hear laughter. If I was right I kinda picked out the different groups like the cheerleaders & jocks, the sporties, skaters, pretties and normies. I wasn't sure which one of those groups I'd fit into but that was the least of my worries at the time. My phone vibrated in my pocket and it was 8:20 meaning time for registration.
Everyone got seated and I sat towards the back near the cheerleaders. Our homeroom teacher was a short blond woman. She looked nice but I hated her for making the new students introduce themselves her first priority. Please don't say me please don't say me...
"Um Valerie Chandler?" Perfect. Fanfudgingtastic! Just what I was hoping not to happen. I took in a deep breath before standing up with my cheeks flaming for what reason I don't know. As I was about to say my name, the driver who I'd run into twice already today stumbled in.
"Good morning, sorry I'm late." he said before quietly slipping towards the back completely ignoring my presence. I wanted to throw up.
"Um, my name is Valerie Chandler, i'm Switzerland' three time winning gold medalist for the junior national swimming competition held at the Aquatics Centre in Bern, Switzerland and I love reading and skateboarding. I looked at the teacher to give me a heads up on when to sit down but instead she looked at me white-faced as if she'd seen a ghost. I looked around, only to find that everyone was staring at me as well. What the hell did I say to cause this!? And why the hell was everyone was staring at me?
The curly blond who'd stepped on my hair earlier pointed at my nose with a grin obviously not taken back by whatever it was the others were so ecstatic at. When I put my hand up to my nose and removed it there was blood all over my fingers. To my untimely inconvenience, there was a small pool of blood on my desk growing bigger by the drop. "Damn." I muttered under my breath. I stormed out of the classroom a little annoyed at my nosebleed and wandered down the halls to the bathroom. This isn't new at all actually, I frequently get nosebleeds. It's a part of the family. A part that thing we girls get once a month I'd say that and a nosebleed is a little too much blood for my liking if you ask me...
I neatly folded a piece of napkin and took it back to class. I quickly wiped up the pool on my desk. The metallic scent was starting to get to me, making me feel sicker than before causing my head to spin. As I sat I looked around only to find the driver was no where to be found.
Jace's POV
It's a good thing I escaped her scent. The scent of her blood is exactly why people like me aren't allowed around other human beings. I've never thought it would come to this! All of the girls in the class of different scents, yes, but hers is enough to drive me crazy! Her scent is unlike any other. It's indescribable that's what it is. I'm not exactly sure how I'll make it through the year with her around. Maybe you don't want to. My subconscious adds with a sly smile. It was finally 8:30; period one would begin any minute. I saw her across the hall in her hoodie that read:"Swimmers get wings." Wasn't it winners get wings? Anyway, I love the way her sky blue toms bring out her dark jeans. She's definitely cute. Yeah but those curves though. My subconscious adds. I wanted to smack him upside the head with the biggest brick I could find. Good grief, she's coming towards me, her scent growing nearer, stronger. God she's gonna drive me up the wall! "Um excuse me, I'm trying to find the biology room and I'm having trouble locating it." She says shyly, her dull gray eyes beaming with hope. I choke before telling her where she needs to go. I slap myself mentally. I can see a smile threatening her red lips. I shoot her look that says "don't even think about it." She some how caught on and raised her hands which then responds "alright alright fine, I'll back off." "Er, i'm taking Biology too, follow me." I say softly, my voice slow as usual.
Valerie's POV
I follow the driver down the hall, still unaware of his name. We both enter the room and the Bio teacher, Mr Walker, greets me first
"Ah always happy to see a new face." He smiles. It's also great to have you back Jace" He says a little tensely. For all things that are good on this earth... Just what I was avoiding..... He just had to go and pair me up with that curly, blond headed guy who stepped on my hair earlier! Ahaha, it won't be so bad when I give him my permission to step on my hair again! That really hurt, I could still feel the stinging from earlier.
