"You owe me fourteen," I say moving my cat marker,

"You own Northumberland?"

"Yup, pay up,"

"Ugh fine," Max says reluctantly handing me the coloured rectangular paper,

"By the way, where did you find this?"

"Someone's house. I also found a box of cigarettes, but I don't smoke"

"You don't?"

"Why? do you?"

"No"

"I know what you're thinking, I'm nineteen and I don't smoke, or drink, and I'm still a virgin,"

"I'm seventeen and I don't smoke or drink, and I am also still a virgin"

"Okay, my turn," Max said shaking the die in his hand.

"eleven" I said as he moved his marker, "Jail!"

"Whatever," He said laughing,

"Max, when you were at the base, did you see any of the captives?"

"Sure. I was one at one point"

"Did you know any of their names?"

"A couple of them"

"Was there one named Dylan?"

"Not that I can remember"

I looked down. I don't know how that suddenly came to me, but I couldn't help it, he was my brother.

"Why? Who is he?"

"Brother," I said releasing the dice onto the board,

"You have a brot-"

I cut him off, "four". I moved my marker four spaces and landed in the jail square. I could have saved him. Now he's lost.

I got up and went into the next room. I needed to clear my thoughts. I sat on the edge of the bathtub and dug my head into my palms. After so long, I thought, what if he's still alive?
