The next morning they got up and packed their things without one word from either of them.

As we were walking however, a man on a horse was quickly rising up from the horizon and coming towards us at an alarming speed.

Alexander was confused for a moment, they still had more than enough moons left to gather their items. Why would to queen send a man to get them, had the king fallen unexpectedly?

Alexander reached out to stop Benjamin from walking any further away, but Benjamin had already stopped and was staring at the horseman alongside Alexander.

As the horseman finally approached them, he looked grim and tired. He held a piece of parchment, and looked at them curiously before beginning to read.

"Greetings to my two brave knights that have so forth risked their lives to finish this quest. Unfortunately the king has fallen very ill since you left, and we are afraid the king will not make it past the many moons I have provided you. Therefore it is with sorrow I must retract most of the moon's time I provided you. You now have 6 moons left, I have brought you more supplies in hopes to hurry your expedition. Thank you, and good luck." The horseman read aloud.

Alexander nodded in an understanding manner and took the bag of extra supplies from the man before bidding him farewell.

After the man left Alexander tried to make joking conversation with Benjamin, but it didn't work. Benjamin stayed silent, but now that Alexander knew they only had 6 more moons he knew he couldn't spend all his time focused on Benjamin's feelings.

Leaving Benjamin at the camp they decided on for tonight, Alexander set out to get the chipmunk skin. It was easy to find a chipmunk in the woods, and it was even easier to skin it and bring it back to their camp.

The difficult thing was seeing the disgust on Benjamin's face when Alexander had to carry a bloody chipmunk skin across their camp to put it with the other ingredients.
