Walking isn't an option. Neither is running, well barely. I already used most of my energy on fighting them off. Base was still 1 mile away. I ran

The cool silver around my neck reminded me why I needed to keep going. As if I'd forget. It had the power to destroy the worlds if it got into the wrong hands. A gift from my father and mother, it was supposed to be passed down through the generations, as it had been since before the Dark Ages. Now I would never get to be there to see my precious baby wear it.

I remembered that this is the other world. People couldn't even see the magical things going on; they would just see them and think they were normal New Yorkers in a rush. My power is weaker here in the other world. I turned around. They were gaining on me. I had to get to the base fast. It was less than a mile away.

I got to the base after an eternity. They must've seen me from the watchtower because fighters rushed out and I was able to get in. On the way in I caught Liam's eye and nodded. He knew. He knew what I had to do. What I am now forced to do.

I went straight up the stairs and saw my baby fast asleep. I picked up the pen and paper. I began to write...

Short chapter, but it's a prologue-it's supposed to be short.
