Chapter 2: Choosing

Seven years after the events of the last chapter, Chandéré possess just over half of the world, Driconda being one of the few now labeled "rebel" Kingdoms, Ace prepares to go forth into the next stage of his life. Becoming a knight for the Kingdom of Driconda.

My alarm makes that crackling sound it does every morning. 8:00AM. Time to drag myself out of bed and get ready. Find my training garb and my academy scroll of approval. I have now finished the academy, my weapon skills are profound in each type of weapon category, my magic is strong, and my willpower is as solid as a rock.

Today is choosing day. As I had the second highest score in the class I will have second pick at my weapon. Furthermore, today I will find out what element I am most proficient in. I will choose an element and allow it to absorb me, become a part of my being. However this is not enough for me. I will not be an Ethereal Knight of Driconda. At best, I will be palace guard. To be promoted to Ethereal, you must preform an act of valor that very few people can manage.

I head downstairs from my apartment, following the creaks and cracks until I get to the front door and exit into the warm Summer air. Jogging to the choosing grounds, I contemplate in my head what element and weapon I will choose...

Fire - The most popular of the elements due to its destructive prowess and good all around skills, using pillars of flames for defence and offence at the same time. Weapons favourited: Maces and Axes

Water - A cool element, but known as the "chickens" element for those who do not know how to control fire. It is mainly used for defence as it can be layered and can absorb attacks, however its offence is not that strong. Unless you find one of the very few Ice elementalists which is an evolved version of water. Weapons fabourited : Whips and harps.

Earth - A tough, strong and rugged element. Mainly tough guys choose this element as it takes a lot of willpower. Mainly used for defence and building, it is great element to have in the case of an enemy attack. And even better its offence could knock anyone flying. Weapons favourited: Great axes and Great swords
