Heartbreak. They say that it means you're one step closer to a happy ending, however, I think that they're wrong. I think there honestly is no happy endings and that it's all pure myth.
"Mavis, honey! Hurry up you're gonna be late for your first day!" My mom had been very enthusiastic about me going to a new school, but I had a different view than she did. "Coming mom!" I let her think that I'm ready for my first day at Allendale High School, but the truth is...I'm really not. I hated when we moved to Sunset Avenue, I lost all my friends, Ryan still texts me every day though. We have been inseparable since kindergarten because we had always been next door neighbors, we shared the same birthday and he was always my best friend, but everything changed when we moved. I live 4 hours away from my old school but Ryan and I still Skype all the time to check up on each other.
After I'm out of the shower I wrap a towel around my hair and do my usual routine, straighten it add my bow for an accent to my outfit. My outfit for today is a pair of pale blue ripped shorts, my black tank top and a navy blue cardigan, I'm not a girly girl but I will dress nice for my first day, I do my makeup the usual and run downstairs to grab my black backpack whilst tucking a strand of my dark brown hair behind my ear. "Mom I'm going to school! I'll text you when I'm home!" My mom works night shifts as a nurse at the hospital so she usually doesn't get home until 1-2 A.M. tops. As I open the front door I smell the warm Orlando air, the warm breeze rushes through my hair and I hear the ocean waves from where I stand, maybe this move doesn't totally blow after all.

After I get off the bus to Allendale I freeze. Holy crap. There's a lot more students here than I imagined would be
Mavis, you're in Orlando. ORLANDO. Of course there's going to be a lot of students here. I take a deep breath in, and I begin walking into the school. As I walk down the hallways I see that it's a typical high school, spirit posters line the hallways, cliques are gathered around the sides like there's no one else there, and of course you have the at least three couples swallowing each other throughout the hallway. Ew.I get the awkward stares from a few girls that seem to be popular and their jock toys that follow them around a puppies, following their every command. I wonder what would happen if I gave them a stick. Nah, not worth it.
As I look at my schedule I see that I need to go to room 349, which is on....the top floor. Great. Good thing I wore my converse today. As I enter the room I am greeted by a tall, slender lady with black hair and way too much blue eyeshadow. "Hello! You must be the new student, I am Mrs. Briggs, pleasure to meet you sweetie!" She harshly grabs my arm before yanking me into the classroom "Attention, class! This is Mavis Carter, she is new here and I expect nothing less then kindness towards this young lady." She practically shouts at the class. I am met with at least 25 pairs of eyes, but I can't help but to notice one in particular. Eyes that were an emerald green color meet me with a harsh, icy stare. He has autumn Brown hair and he smirks as he scans my body with a look of satisfaction. My cheeks blush pink and I look to the floor. "Miss Carter, you can take a seat now. Ah, look! There happens to be one open next to Mr. Crimson over there!" Gulp. Don't look at him. Don't look at him. Don't...Damn. As I look at him again I see his eyes are more friendly towards me than before, a gleam of lust from them shoots my way and I turn away as quickly as I can.

As 3rd period lets out I stop at my locker to grab my history book and I feel as though someone is staring at me. As I turn around I see the same pair of emerald green eyes from before, only this time they seemed to once again be filled with lust. Stay away from him Mavis. You've been hurt enough. Ignore him. As I turn away from my locker my path is blocked...by the one Mrs. Briggs called 'Mr. Crimson'. His figure is tall and built, he is athletic by the looks of it, and he is nearly a foot taller than I am. "Excuse me" I say as I try to pass through, although I am quickly stopped when he sidesteps to prevent me from going any further. "Hey, what's the hurry?" He says, attempting to get me to stay. But before I could stammer a word out I snuck past him and darted down the hallway. Only one day in and already having a guy hit on you? Damn. Wonder what that's all about.

As school ends, I enter the bus and ride home, when I arrive home I unlock the door and step inside.
I'm home
I text my mom on my way through the door. Just then I hear a loud rumbling noise coming from outside, I look out the window and my heart stops. Shit. It's the emerald eyed boy himself. And he's my next door neighbor.
