The Bad Boy and The Bookworm

Meeting My Bad Boy

"Give it back!"

I jumped up as high as i could. Trying to get my book back. I was right at the good part when he took it. I'm not short, by all means no, but compared to him i am. He's 6'9 where i fall short compared to him at 5'5.

"You have to get it your self little bookworm." He laughed evilly. I really hated him sometimes. Ever since that fateful day......

It was free period. I was in the library like normal. It was quiet compared to the halls. Everyone was buzzing about the new boy. All the girls had crushes on him already. I would just roll my eyes. How can you like someone just for their looks? For all I know he could be a complete jerk. I happened to be right.

My long hair was up in a messy bun, my glasses on my head. My tongue poked out of the side of my mouth as i took in every word on the page. I had started the book that morning and was so close to finishing. I was about to find out what happened to the main character when the book was snatched away from me. I let out a low growl. No ever takes my book. Not my best friends, my parents or my teachers. Everyone knows not to touch my books.

I turned to the person who had just declared a death wish. I came face to face with a leather belt that help up low riding jeans on a lean pair of legs. I scanned the person as I made my way to their eyes. Above the low riding jeans was a white tee that showed just enough muscles. Showing the outline of his abs. Over the white tee was a beaten leather jacket. My eyes continued on as went to look at my newest enemy.

My eyes met bright green ones I had never seen before. I gulped. The thought that this could be the new boy flashed through my mind. I would think someone had thought to warn him about me. Sad to say, but i have a violent streak.

"So your the booky i was warned about? You look like you can't even hurt a fly." A deep voice rang in my ear. So he was the new boy and it looked like someone did warn him. He didn't believe them when they said to stay away. Oh well, he'll learn soon enough.

"Well one thing i've learned is never judge a book by it's cover. Maybe you should learn too." I sneered. Sure i was being mean, but i really wanted my book back. I was just getting to the good part.

"I don't exactly do learning." He laughed as if it was the most obvious thing ever.

"You know what you should do? Give me my book back." I held my hand out and tapped my foot. By now a small crowd had gathered around the front of the library. Trying to act casual and 'look' for a book. When really they were listening in.

"How bout you make me?" He teased, totally under estimating me. Wrong thing to do. So that's exactly what i did. I stomped my heel into his toe. He let out a weird wounded sound but didn't move. I pulled my arm back and punched him in the stomach. A gasp came from the crowd.

He bent, clutching his stomach. I jumped and grabbed my book out of his hands. I shouldn't have been too sure of myself. 'Cause i missed the dangerous smirk on his face as i turned my back to leave.

In a second i was pinned. With my arms uncomfortably twisted behind my back. I kept my death grip on my book.

"And you'll learn no one punches me and gets away with it." He whispered in my ear.

"What are you? Some kind of bad boy?" I snorted.

"You my little bookworm can't hurt a fly."

I glared at him over my shoulder. He just smirked at my death glare. From then on i swore he would be my enemy. Funny how things turned out.

Now here i am 9 years later. Still trying to get my book back. Only not the same book and this time he's not quite my enemy.

"Can i please have my book back?" I put on my pouty face. It normally work. Though i knew it wouldn't this time.

"Do you happen to know where we are?" He raised an eyebrow at me.

"Yes. We are at a wedding reception." I gave him a look. Did he really think i was that dumb?

"Our wedding reception." He emphasized the 'our'.

"I know." I smiled looking down at the diamond ring on my finger.

"My little bookworm." He sighed and shook his head. I could see his smile. No matter how hard he tried to hide it.

"And my bad boy." I reached up and gave him a kiss.
