Anna's POV
Hi, my name is Anna. I'm just a normal 17-year old with blonde hair and blue eyes. I'm a regular height. There's nothing unusual about me, really. I still have both my parents, and a little brother. Nothing bad has happened in my past and everything at school is awesome, I have good grades and a couple of great friends: Sam, Liam and Jessie. We're almost inseperable, which is quite nice to be honest. A lot of people ask us if we don't get sich of each other, but we don't. We're actually really close. Oh, and before I forget, we also try to run a YouTube account. We vlog, but we also do challenges and that kind of stuff. There has never been any kind of romance between the four of us, we just became friends and it never got anything more. It's better this way, it never gets complicated, no one will want any distance from the others because signals are misinterpreted. Me personally, I've liked a few guys before and I've had one serious relationship with a guy named James. We dated for about three years, but eventually we just grew apart. We still talk to each other every once in a while though.
Back to reality. Tomorrow is Monday, a new week of school, which means today I have to do all my homework. I am highly demotivated to do anything today, exept lying in bed and watching the Vampire Diaries on Netflix. I'm about to climb in bed and hide there for the afternoon when my mom calls me from downstairs. I sigh and make my way through my bedroom and down the stairs into the living room, where my mom is.
"Yes mom?" I ask.
"Anna, can you please go grocery shopping for me? I still have a lot of work to do that is due tomorrow." She says.
"But mom, I have homework to do," I complain, "Can't you ask Jamie?"
"No, Anna, your brother went last time, today is your turn." She says.
I want to start arguing with her, but she cuts me off, "No, young lady, I don't want to hear it. If you go now, you will be back in an hour, which leaves you plenty of time to do your homework."
I sigh again and slowly make my way back upstairs to change into something more decent. I walk over to my closet and pull out the first pair of jeans and the first shirt I see. I change out of my comfy sweatpants and -shirt and into the jeans. They turn out to be my baggy ripped ones and a black and white striped T-Shirt. I grab my phone, push it into my pocket and go back downstairs.
"I put the money and the grocery list on the kitchen counter." Mom says when I step into the living room.
I walk into the kitchen, snitch the money and the list from the counter, put them into my pocket and go to the hallway to put on my shoes and jacket.
"Bye!" I yell and then I step outside, shutting the front door behind me.
I make my way to the grocery store, which is two streets from my house, desperately hoping it is not too much for me to carry all the way back home.
I arrive at the store and I realize why my mom actually made me go. The place is crowded. It's like everyone in this town spontaniously decided to go grocery shopping. I decide to go for it and grab a basket, pushing my way through thd crowd. Despite the huge number of people, I manage to get everything pretty quickly. I'm walking down the snack isle right now, deciding what kind of candy I'm buying when someone bumps into me. I turn around to tell him to watch where he's going, but all I see is the back of a guys head disappearing around the corner. I shrug it off and turn back around, when my eye falls on a boy with greenish blue hair. Usually I find it very ugly when people paint their hair those kinds of colours, but somehow this guy pulls it off. He has a quiff that's slightly too long, which makes it sag down. He's wearing black skinny jeans and a blue and black checkered button-up along with a leather jacket. He looks up and slowly looks around, his head turning my way. Before his eyes can land on me, I look away and turn so I'm facing the products. I shove three bags of candy into the basketcand walk to the cashier. To get there I have to walk past the blue-haired boy. I just go for it and quickly walk past him. I put all my groceries on the counter for the cashier to scan. After he's scanned everything I pay him and then the struggle to scoop everything up in my arms begins.
"Do you need help with that?" I hear a boy's voice beside me.
I look up and see the hot boy with the blue hair smiling at me.
"No thanks, I'll manage." I answer.
I try again and manage. I walk out of the store, but then someone bumps into me, causing all the groceries to fall out of my arms.
"God, what is it with everything bumping into me?" I mutter under my breath while kneeling down to pick the fallen groceries up again.
"Are you sure you don't need any help?" I hear behind me before someone kneels down beside me.
I can hear him chuckling and look next to me.
"Okay, I might need a little help." I say, smiling at the blue-haired boy.
I pick up most of the groceries and the boy picks up the rest.
"Thanks. I only live two streets from here. If you place those in my arms I think I can get home without dropping them again." I tell him with a smile.
"You sure? I could also walk with you." He offers.
"No, thanks. I'll manage this time." I say.
"Okay then." He smiles.
I smile back at him and walk off.
I arrive back home without dropping any of the groceries. I ring the doorbell and my mom opens the door.
"Oh, hey, you're back. Took you long enough." She says.
"Well, yeah, that's what you get when you send me to a crowded grocery store." I answer.
"Don't be grumpy, Anna." Mom scolds me.
I walk through the hall and to the kitchen, where I dump all the groceries on th counter.
"Can I go and do my homework now?" I ask with a sigh.
"Yes, I'll put the groceries away." Mom answers.
I quickly go upstairs and shut the door of my bedroom. I sot down at my desk and look at the pile of homework in front of me. If I even had any motivation, it is definitely gone now. I take a very deep breath and grab the book on top of the pile: Chemistry. My least favorite subject. You have subjects you don't like because you don't like the teacher and you have subjects you don't like because they're stupid. Chemistry is one of the latter category.
I open the book and read the first question, or at least, try to read the first question. I get interrupted by a knock on the door.
"Yeah?" I ask.
The door opens and the head of my little brother appears.
"Yes, Jamie, what do you want?" I ask sighing.
"Um, Anna, can you please help me with my homework? I don't understand and mom is busy, so..." He asks.
"Okay, yeah, sure." I reply.
I stand up and follow my brother into his room. It's a mess, but I don't pay attention to it.
"Okay, tell me, what's the problem?" I ask, looking down on his maths book.
"I just don't understand what I have to do to solve this." He says.
I look down once more, but I don't understand either.
"Sorry, Jamie, I can't help you. I also don't know what to do." I tell him.
"Oh." He replies, a disappointed look on his face.
"Sorry." I say once again and then I walk out of his room.
I get back in my room and fall down on my bed, completely ignoring the pile of my own homework I'm supposed to do. I grab my laptop and crawl under the covers, starting Netflix.
